No, if you're winning you would never lose.

Easily possible, but possibly concerning.
It depends on what type of game. My biggest downswing in BBs was over 700 BB online. It's a little harder to lose that much in a soft live full-ring game though. Not that I haven't had 300 BB downswing in soft live games, but it probably wasn't due to bad luck.

I'm looking into moving to Vegas to grind the live limit games I've got $50,000 to play and live on any sound strategy ?

What's should I expect as in the biggest but softest games ?

Thanks for the advise in advance

Bellagio is the only place to play mid-stakes limit in Vegas.

Both the 20 and the 40 play unusually tight-passive IME.

20 40 and 40 80 at the Bellagio is your only place for lhe. I expect 20 40 is run stronger. You can check games via Bravo. If you play NL you will have more options.

Bike and Commerce are probably stronger all year except during the WSOP.

+1 . If you have a main or side income to replenish your roll than I would not worry too much. If that is your life roll, I would be more conservative. Losing consecutive days or weeks sucks and does happen.

Hi SetofJacks:

Not the games I play in. They're fairly loose with a few very aggressive players. However, I usually only play late at night and suspect the day time games to be much tighter and perhaps with less of the extremely aggressive players.

Best wishes,
Mason

looking at basing myself in Vegas for online play and easy walking access to live games. I play a mixed Varity of poker but I was looking at making Limit Holdem my main go to for paying the bills. speaking of those bills I'm a minimalist and will be solo so my bills will be very very little...something crazy like $1,000 ish....not looking to get rich just enjoy playing poker and seeking freedom. I will also spend time in LA for poker when I feel like the commute. when I play other limits like no limit I will be playing the 5/10 or 10/20 games.

There is plenty of inexpensive housing in Las Vegas, but you would have trouble keeping a low budget while being within a nice walk of the casinos. Not impossible, but not easy.

MagicJack69. Also check out the Las Vegas Lifestyles forum if you haven't already. There are several similar threads with feedback from actual locals.

It's pretty easy to keep a tight budget living near the casino, it's called "don't play in the pit".

I didn't mean anything like that; most of the housing close to the casinos is either really expensive or really shady.

It's of course possible, but theoretically with proper bankroll management after burning through a good chunk of your roll, you've already moved down. With as many options as there are to play, you really shouldn't go 100% bust except starting out at the lowest rung. There are also opportunities for financial gain "in the real world" that can work with your roll.

its not only a certainty that you will lose 300bb, its a certainty that you will lose 300bb multiple times.

My experience watching people play with short rolls is that they usually only get to lose it once.

Well, as soon as you get down to 200BB, you should move down where your bankroll is 400BB, or you should have some threshold where you start selecting more at the stake you previously played. So, even if you lose 300BB straight, some of them should be at a lower stake level so you aren't busto. Also, going busto at the lowest rung should be replenish-able of course.

I agree....that's why I asked so I could confirm that I need to get a coach to fix my broken thought process before I bust my life roll...until then I will keep my day job and play low stakes in my home town until I can prove I will not bust a 300 BB roll

again thanks to everyone that has helped
