You're still giving them away? I seem to recall this having been an issue in June.

Aarrgh, nothing more frustrating than playing big (40/80 is big for me) against 3-4 bad players and getting stuck a couple of racks. Today I guess I wasn't the Kraken.

I guess I can't complain, still running good for the year.

dude, you have no idea how funny your response is.

On Monday I offered them to a kid named Josh a couple times and I think I got under his skin. Since vanman posted his story from Monday I decided I had to keep it up.

Anyway, if I actually gave her away I think my roommate would kill me.

Well finally booked my first multi-rack loss since the series. Guess 400bb live upswing is over. Oh well, still running hot online.

I am confused and too lazy to look these things up, so I will stay unaware of what is going on around me.

This morning's fun Commerce 9/18 hand

Hero is in Hijack J T

UTG folds, Donkey 1 calls, Donkey 2 calls, hero thinks WTF, and RAISES. fold to BB (an old guy) who calls, donkeys call.

FLOP: K Q 4

Checks to hero, hero bets, all call.

TURN: 9

UTG old man BETS, donkey 1 folds, donkey two calls, HERO RAISES, UTG 3 bets, donkey 2 tanks. Hero mumbles "dammit I'm such a donkey" and makes like he's going to fold. Donkey 2 calls. HERO CAPS, ALL CALL.

RIVER: 8

UTG BETS, Donkey 2 folds, HERO RAISES, UTG CALLS.

UTG shows Q 6 for pair of queens, 6 kicker.

Hero shows the nut straight.

LOL commercaments.

If UTG was my dad, I'd already in my lawyers office getting legal guardianship before he spews off any more of my inheritance.

so apparantly bringing a book to read while you wait to be called for your game is a good way to make new and interesting friends.

1. yesterday, as I'm paying for the downstairs buffet:

hostess: Is that the same book you were reading last time?
me: yeah, I haven't finished it yet.

I don't even recognize this girl, and I realize it's probably because the other hostess is actually pretty hot and has always hogged my attention. So I wonder for a second if she's flirting with me...

hostess: yeah, my sister likes to read. I can't stand to though.
me: ...

not really wondering anymore.

2. today, at the upstairs buffet

cashier: what are you reading there?
me: it's called "A Short History of Nearly Everything," and it's mostly about science and stuff. like pre-history really, geology and the dawn of life and stuff like that.
cashier: oh, well does he talk about religion?
me: no, not really.
cashier: well does he talk about evolution?
me: well, yeah, of course
cashier: does he believe in evolution?
me: ...

I may go back to just bringing the newspaper to keep me occupied when the game is full.

It's a side effect of the programming of the Shuffle Master machines. They are programmed to generate 'action' flops, you see, so that the house makes more money. As a perhaps-unintended consequence, the quads-beaten jackpot gets hit more often than the aces-full-of-jacks jackpot did when the dealers shuffled by hand.

3 months of break-even live poker, decided to subscribe to stoxpoker and see if this old dog can learn any new tricks.

Gotta keep up with all these hotshot internet kids.

saw this hand last night in Oaks 30 game, which was the most awesome game evar, so Mitch lost 2 racks obv.

Seat 3 limps , Seat 4 limps, Seat 5 raises, Seat 6 calls, Seat 8 calls, and Seat 2 calls in BB. (6 way to flop 2bets)

Flop is 3 4 6

Check to seat 4 bets, seat 5 raises, Seat 6 3bets, Seat 8 caps, and EVERYONE calls. (capped 5 ways)

Turn is 3 4 6 7

Check to seat 4 bets, seat 5 calls all in, seat 6 folds(what he says was JJ) Seat 8 calls, Seat 2 calls, Seat 3 raises, seat 4 3 bets, seat 8 calls, seat 2 calls(ALL IN), and seat 3 caps, all call. (capped 5ways minus an all in)

River is 6 seat 3 bets, seat 4 calls, seat 8 calls

seat 2 has 33
seat 3 has A5
seat 4 has 25
seat 5 has 910
seat 8 has 78
seat 6 says he folded JJ

I went on a live downswing for about 2 months after finishing stox's book. Could be a coincidence, but I think I was trying too hard after that...

Yah, I identified some leaks in my game. One problem with more knowledge is you start seeing stuff that isn't there, and making bad calldowns when really the key to 20/40 live poker is usually just playing straightforward ABC poker. I've forgotten how to fold.

No need to make the superstar play 95% of the time.

Also been not getting enough sleep lately, and not taking my time thinking things through and playing on autopilot.

Last thing I noticed was that I've been super-busy lately, so I've been really forced into very specific poker schedules. This makes me force the play a little too much when I know I only have 25 min. left to play and I'm stuck a little playing against 6 ******s...

Things work out much better when my poker schedule is flexible and I can leave whenever I want.

Me too...If I had A high, I was seeing showdown, and sometimes with K and rarely Q high...and I didn't win enough of those to show a profit thats for sure...but I learned how to fold again!
