Bob--

I dunno, it looks like at least *TT* loves you and will never leave or ignore you, no matter how much garbage you post.

Joker--

Yeah, being a "2+2 celebrity" is completely weird. Although pretty much everyone who's recognized me from the Internet has been totally nice and awesome to me and thought I possessed poker expertise orders of magnitude beyond what I actually possess. So that's sort of cool.

All my best,

sitting in the Philadelphia airport. Waiting for my flight to
LA. Will be at the commerce tonight until Wed. If you see
an unfamiliar face that appears to have a clue it might be
me. I'm a pretty big guy with short hair and a goatee.
Penner will be too. She is a middle aged woman. We will
be in either 20-40 or 40-80 games. Any regulars that will
be there that want to say hi feel free to do so

btw anyone wanna start med stakes poker game in san diego? like 75/150ish mix or just lhe. im really bad at horse so i strongly suggest we just play 1/2 horse at viejas every day so i can go broke and grind out the 200nl for eternity or maybe live 20 holdem

Well, the limit forums need at least one rational voice.

I was counting the money.........

I iso-raise a horrible EP limper w/ A-10o and get it HU. Turn board is A-A-10-x and we both check (he had called my flop bet). River is under the 10 and brings a 4 flush and we go to war: 5-bets, 6-bets, 7-bets, yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!! I got bills to pay! Finally he just calls. I figure this is the time to try out the 'fast grab' I see you guys talking about, flip up my hand and then he shows me......wait for it.........A-10o. **** **** ****.

You were quite lucky, he either had AT or a straight flush....you were playing for half the pot by the 7th bet.

I don't know how many times PokerBob was pointed out to me at Bellagio or the Rio but I never felt like going up and talking to him! This system works guys!

Oh and PJ, it was 100% the Playboy party, we appreciate your sacrifice as the TR was awesome.

Plus, I was up against a wack-job. You would've been counting the money also.

I'm in what might be one of the top 3 greatest games in my brief (less than 400 hours I think) career at the Commerce 40/80 game. Mistakes are being made faster than the dealer can pitch the cards.

In seat 9 is David, an Israeli regular who is absolutely horrible -- incredibly passive, super loose, misses value everywhere, and has no regard for position or mathematics. He just blithely sits there cold-calling with his Q9o and flopping a Q vs. someone's JJ, check-calling the first two streets and when the river checks through, turns over his queen and smiles while raking in the chips, so proud of his accomplishments at poker. I'm card dead, once again, folding and folding and folding. David now has about 5 racks in front of him and decides... "I'm going to the 60." He goes to the 60.

In seat 1 is another of our favorite regulars, an Asian guy with a ponytail and a good sense of fashion. He also has a good sense of how to limp in with any two suited cards, chase any gutshot or backdoor draw, then check-fold every river. He blows through two racks before I even get a chance to get in a pot with him. Why? Because I'm card dead, once again, folding and folding and folding. When he finally busts out with K2s vs. KQ, he stands up, his girlfriend in tow, and walks away. But he doesn't leave the casino. He goes and sits in the 60.

David is replaced by a more slovenly Asian guy with no accent, wearing a tattered white t-shirt and a carpenter's shirt. He sits down with a bunch of teal chips and a pink chip. He seems a bit tighter than the others, because it takes him at least 3 hands to start cold-calling and joining the 6-way 3-bet pots. He watches as the Armenian in seat 2 limps in with Q7o, flops the J83, turns the 9, rivers the T and gets paid. He watches as the drunk LAG lady in seat 5 opens UTG with red QJo, flop T93 all clubs, bet, then c/r the turn, and river a red K to beat the flopped set of the other LAG lady. Meanwhile, I'm card dead, once again, folding and folding and folding.

But then I pick up QQ in the BB. Our new friend in the tattered t-shirt has open-limped to my left UTG. The Armenian in seat 2 limps. The LAG lady in seat 3 limps. The drunk Persian named Bobby in seat 4 limps. Drunk LAG lady on the button in seat 5 won't have any of that, and raises. The tight Armenian in the SB cold-calls, and I 3-bet. Everyone calls. The flop is 622 with two hearts. I bet, our new friend calls, Persian Bobby calls, button calls. Turn is the 3h. I bet, our new friend calls, Persian Bobby calls, button folds. River is the Jh. I check, our new friend bets, Bobby calls, and I fold. New buddy shows KhQs for the flush. Nice hand. As he's scooping in the pot, Martik calls him for his new game. He takes all my chips and moves over to... the 60.

I glance over at the 60 game. There's our favorite pony-tailed Asian fish. There's David. There's that old Persian lady with the big hair who talks a lot about every hand. There's JD Sleeves. There's LAGgy bald John. And here comes our new tattered t-shirt friend carrying 2 racks of my chips. The 60 game looks good. But I'm stuck. I'm too stuck to move up. Besides, they keep replacing the empty seats at my table with more and more fish. And I am rewarded for this by being card dead, once again, folding and folding and folding.

In my last hand of the night, I am UTG. I look down at AA. This is the first time I have seen AA tonight. I've seen JJ, and lost with it. I've seen KK, and won a small pot with it. I've seen QQ, and we know how that went. I've seen AK twice, and lost both times with it. But now I finally see AA. Under the gun. On my last hand of the night.

I open-raise. Next to me is a new Asian with a bluetooth. He cold-calls. Next to him is David's second replacement, a young kid who is stuck and steaming. He cold-calls. Next to him is Asian pony-tail's replacement, an old man in a yellow sweater. He cold-calls. Next to him is the Armenian donk, who cold-calls. Persian Bobby cold-calls. Drunk LAG lady somehow finds a fold in the SB. BB calls too. We're off to the flop and the pot's already big.

The flop is J43 with two hearts, and I thank heaven for small favors that I have the Ah. At least I'm drawing to the nuts. I bet. Bluetooth calls. Stuck young kid raises. Yellow sweater coldcalls. Folded around to me. I call because I am going to put the hammer down on the turn. Bluetooth calls. The turn is the Tc. I check, bluetooth checks, kid bets, yellow sweater calls, I raise, bluetooth folds, kid calls, yellow sweater finally folds. River is the sweet sweet 2s. I bet, kid calls, and MHIG. The dealer makes it rain on my stack. I grab empty racks. I pick up my chips. Somehow, in some way, by some work of magic, I am up tonight. I am up a whopping 4 big bets. I'll take it. But as I leave I say goodbye to the 60 game I never sat in... the 60 game that probably would have been among the top 3 greatest games in my brief (less than 50 hours I'm sure) career at the Commerce 60/120 game. But that's okay; I wouldn't have played any pots. I'd probably just be card dead, once again, folding and folding and folding.

Because that's how you leave a winner. By folding.

Sincerely,
- the nit

Definitely sounds like it. Tonality and all.
08-03-2008 , 11:35 AM
But. . . Joker. . . .do you fold with style?
08-03-2008 , 12:27 PM
sounds like a pretty tough 60 game tbh

btw played probably the worst ive played since like i dont even know when last night in a 40 game. also ran pretty horrifically equity wise but was lucky to win one gigantic non overs pot and run well in overs so i won anyway.

Reminds me of the time I basically cost everyone at the table an additional $2.33 each (since time is $7/half hour) by taking 10 minutes to raise and re-raise a TAG with j-9 on a 3-9-j-j board until he was all-in and had probably put about a rack's worth of chips in on the turn alone. Of course he also had j-9. I think it may have annoyed some people.
