Lag HJ opens, Very loose and laggy CO 3 bets, folded to me in the SB and I cap AsQs, TAG BB insta calls and the rest call.

The HJ plays very straight forward post flop in mw pots. The CO will get out of line at times but seems to play reasonably straight forward in big mw pots.

9s8c6d....I check....Should I bet?...BB checks, HJ bets, CO raises.

Do you call this? I'm not closing the action. The HJ and CO have uncapped ranges. The BB probably just has over cards. I fear he may have a big Ace taking away my outs.

What ranges are you putting all three opponents on? Seems most optimistic case is HJ or CO has JT, while another has a pair + straight draw combo (T9, T8, 97, 87, 86) so winning unimproved is near nil.

I'm playing this under the assumption I have to improve. I try to be optimistic in huge pots especially against laggy players. There is a very small chance I could win UIP.

I think the BB would bet a made hand after I check. HJ could have any pair or combo draw. Maybe A7 but I think he is more likely to have a pair. He will 3 bet the flop if he has top or better and maybe an 8 with a combo draw. The button could also have any pair. He plays more honest in huge pots so I suspect he has a made hand.

I think another problem with calling is that I may talk myself into a blank turn call given the size of the pot. I suppose the question would be is it worth it to try to spike an Ace, Queen or spade? What would you discount my outs to be in this situation? I'm thinking 4.5 ish.

I have a bad habit of calling in these spots with the backdoor(s). Especially if there is a card that can turn me a straight flush draw (10s or Js). However... with your read that these players are playing straightforward I think it's just too much of a parlay to continue here that it won't come back to you capped.

I would fold.

I would snap fold. The flop could easily get capped and our hand sucks. I am pretty sure HJ and CO have a range advantage on this board since they can have sets and 98s in addition to all of the overpairs. As a simplification, you can probably just range check this board.

Betting the flop is pretty bad imo.

Gah, been playing too much NL. HJ and CO don't have a range advantage. They have a nut advantage. The latter would be very relevant in NL, but much less so in LHE. But the board does catch them up to our SB cap quite a bit, so we should still be checking a decent amount given that we are OOP. A range check might still be okay here.

Using 25% ranges for all three players, here is what I would consider - check the flop, call one bet, maybe a single raise, the pot is offering solid odds. Continue post flop if a 2, Q, A or any spade hits. One players opinion.
