I believe "osting" is when someone bets ost of their range when checked to but not quite Most of their range.

Almost certainly I was tilted over-aggro player in this hand.
Missing from the details is that I straddled button and river was sadly not a 4 as that would have given me two pair.

I don't dislike c/c down here, player in question will likely try to value-bet worse pairs on both the turn and river.

If we make the turn a 6, I feel like I want to bet-fold the turn. It is very nice to charge a bet to any Ax, Kx, Qx, 9x, 8x or underpair that happens to be in there. And I feel fairly comfortable folding to a raise because we have so few ways to improve and have blockers to potential semi-bluffs they would be raising with.

But with it being a 7, betting is less compelling because we can't really fold to a raise once we have the gutshot. Although even with it being a 7, I still think it's close between bet/check.

i also considered this, but in this specific situation, i think ranges are too wide not to charge. bb and btn have q5o in their range.

'Charging draws' is often the wrong way to think about poker. They talk[ed] about it so much on TV, its often engrained in people's minds, but you gotta look further.

Charging other draws only applies if we are ahead. The times we aren't ahead, we are *way* behind, and charging ourselves extra. The times we are ahead, we are often pushing a small EV edge. Giving a free card can also let people catch up to inferior pairs/draws, which will pay off on later streets. It's not all bad.
