If you bet and both your opponents fold, you probably had them crushed. If you bet and one of your opponents raises, you can’t be sure if they even have you beat but your hand has so little playability on most run outs that you should fold. Checking saves you a SB, plus you occasionally improve to the best hand on some turns, and furthermore sometimes you check it down 3 ways and win with ace high.
Given that most winning players are winning at 1 BB per hour, saving this SB may account for half your hourly. I would save cbets for drier flops that favor your range, or hands that either stand to be the best hand or have robust equity (semi-bluffs). Mindlessly cbetting makes you easy to play against.
