Can't imagine checkraisdraw OR any other 2+2 poster being net lover at Commerce 20/40 LHE assuming can play min 3 sessions a year

PS: Sean Snyder once indicated Commerce is non great time but think that's based on no gamble no future high stakes he played in past at Commerce

I always assumed Superbowl Sunday would be a pretty bad day at card rooms because it is a day typically spent with family and friends. Even your typical Sunday has always been slow, in my experience.

Super bowl Sunday at foxwoods around 2014 or 15, whichever year Peyton and broncos were in it. Action was probably average for a weeknight, except it was Sunday of course. Only thing of note that comes to mind was the guy to my left. He was watching the tv to my right. I was off in lala land. Then YEEEEAHHH!!! right in my ear.

The quickest way to lose weight is to cut carbohydrates since that's what we tend to eat too much of. One of my bodybuilding friends has a simple recommendation : be able to point at what you're eating and say what it is in one word. Apples, chicken, broccoli, etc. Sauces are mostly sugar, so stick to clean/fresh ingredients and incorporate spicy as the key flavor ingredient rather than savory or greasy.

Breakfast is a good time to skip carbs and there are a few options for this. My favorite is to blend bananas, strawberries, blueberries, yogurt, and a bit of fruit juice or ice with a significant amount of chickpeas for protein. The fruits overcome the starchy flavor of the chickpeas, and it gets you the fiber/protein you need to be energetic until lunch. Another decent option is to just get (or make) an egg white wrap. Egg and avocado in a wrap is actually fairly pleasant if you like to eat bird eggs. If you need a bit more flavor, use some hot sauce (or add mozzarella if it's really too generic still).

Lunch is where you wanna get a good chunk of protein and veggies imo. Grilled chicken (if you enjoy eating the birds), lettuce, tomato, and jalapenos is a pretty clean but refreshing lunch. When I was weight training but working also this is mostly what I ate for lunch. You can go a bit sideways and get grilled chicken, avocado, and mozzarella in a wrap, but generally if you're looking to lose weight quick cheese leads to more unhealthy foods since it triggers a little dopamine production in your brain, and this tends to get us into "what else would make me feel good" cycles that (for most people) circle around mildly destructive behaviors. You can also go with a salad for lunch, but just keep adding contrasting flavors and skip the dressing. Red onions pair well against avocado and jalapenos, peppers and cucumbers provide a clean flavor, and if you add diced tomatos (the Tom Brady diet kinda goes against tomatos) and mix well there's a fluidity and an intermingling between those juices/flavors that can be really refreshing by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl.

If you're eating clean foods, it takes a while before your body begins to crave them, but it helps if you go full-nelson with it. Drink ice-cold water with all your meals. Prepare them before your workouts so you go right into the next healthy behavior. Eating before a workout is great but we tend to feel very "not want move" after eating.

Idk about skipping dinner completely, but if you are planning to eat less I'd still look into some healthy snacks. Choose a nut or two that you generally enjoy, and buy some unsalted quantity of it. It's a bore to eat that, but if you buy a back of unshelled chili pistachios and mix them in it can really save the day. If you wanted to go clean for dinner, brown rice, chickpeas, and avocado is the way to go. Peruvian restaurants make a green sauce that can absolutely lend flavor to a dish like this, but there's a bit of mayo in it so it might not be your option. Obviously, chicken or steak can be substituted here, I just find the protein/nutrient profile of chickpeas to be one of the best.

The trick with working out/eating healthy is that it takes a while and a good bit of discipline before you really feel the rewards. You regularly see ppl who get good at working out stick with it though. Vegans/health nuts are always waving their arms trying to get people to join them. It isn't that they are just salesman or think it's the only way, they genuinely are enjoying the practice and the benefits, they just can't quantify it in words well enough to sway anyone. Get into it, see for yourself. It's good ****, and at worst you're setting a good example for your family and friends.

I appreciate the lengthy response from RosaParks, but to my knowledge, there is not much empirical support for what constitutes a "clean" food or that eating "clean" food is any healthier than eating "unclean" food. Your body requires certain nutrients, and so long as you get those nutrients, I'm not sure it matters how. Yes, eating nothing but junk food is going to make it hard for you to get the nutrients you need without eating excess calories, but there isn't anything inherently wrong with eating some "unclean" foods. As for weight, you lose weight when you eat more calories than you burn, and vice versa. It doesn't matter what goes in, it's just a calorie count. On the margins, this might not be completely true, but it's true enough.

I think this is a pretty good guide, that has been popular on reddit for a long time: https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/

As for how to lose 10 pounds quickly, I'm no expert on what is safe or what is attainable.

I'm not any type of nutritionist so I apologize if I used the wrong term, but I guess I meant clean to mean healthy. Fruits, vegetables, and proteins. Conceptually, if you could dictate your intake method, and there was a pill that supplied all your nutritional needs, that'd be great. Since that's not available, I tend to think about the overall function of the body as I would a machine. My body will digest and break down whatever I put in, but some stuff is going to have negative consequences to appearance and performance, and the healthy stuff tends to be the lowest impact on the digestive system. Less wear and tear over time, so to speak. Caloric deficit is definitely a thing, but I also like to consider the cheat days and snacking and excess that I know will still be an urge. By gradually transitioning your diet to all healthy stuff, the impact of overeating becomes less of an issue.

Fair enough. "Clean" is one of those pseudoscience buzzwords that gets thrown around by the same types of folks (think Instagram influencers) promoting "cleanses" and the like. It's all a bunch of bunk. I totally agree with you that focusing on fresh produce and less processed foods is awesome.

It definitely is tough to navigate language today in the health/nutrition world. Even something simple like "what vitamins should I take" is going to lead to a million sales pitch websites. The "top 5 protein shakes/bars/supplements" world seems to be whoever sponsored the articles that season. "Superfoods" and "nutropics" and all this stuff is a mixed bag of benefits and placebo effects. Marketing just destroys most industries because it erodes an idea meritocracy and replaces it with a crabs in a bucket situation. The worst part is that the new products (that could actually be useful and helpful) automatically see scrutiny because of how blatantly greedy the marketing is. I'll get off my soapbox, but it's tough to really be sure your diet is proper as an adult.

Ninefingershuffle nailed it though. Beer is a good thing to skip.

Never been. My plan would be to go out for smokes, and find a really old school looking host, bartender, doorman, etc. Look em square in the eyes and say Earnest sent me. He said you knew where to take my lady tonight.

I went to Foxwoods recently on a Saturday for the first time since covid and was told 20-40 doesn't run anymore. I imagine that fate was inevitable but it seemed to me at the time that when the kill was added to the game it was not going to end well. What a total bummer it was to hear that staple game is gone though.

That's a shame. I thought FW 20/40 used to be an everyday game. Does the big mix game (150/300) ever go anymore there?

I don't think it was the kill as that never returned after covid. But agree that it was already struggling before.

Still some mix on the weekends, Smarty, though I'm not in touch with the whens and hows. 1/2 BTOE afaik. Stud is still chugging along at 20/40 and 75/150.
