I haven’t been on 2+2 in forever but I need somewhere to play in NYC and it brought me back.

Just wanted to say I’m doing something in LHE right now that I’ve never heard of.

I’ve won 27 20/40 sessions in a row.

My average session length is about 7.25 hours so it’s not like I have a bunch of cheapies in there. I think I have a couple around 3-5 hours because the game broke. I didn’t even know this was a thing until I had 15 wins in a row. I had run off four straight $2k+ wins and it made me wonder when the last time I lost was and I was shocked to see it was 15 in a row. I’m pretty sure I’ve never even hit 10 LHE wins in a row. I left for WSOP for six weeks with the streak at 18 in a row and since I’ve been back I’ve won 9 more in a row.

It’s blowing my mind. I’m prob jinxing it by posting this, but whatever. I didn’t think this kind of thing was possible. I’ve been a full time LHE player since like 2011 and I have data going back to summer 2013 and I’ve lost about 37% of my 6+ hour sessions lifetime so this kind of anomaly just seems impossible to me.

Stats during streak:
$1346 avg profit
$184.41 hourly
4.61 BB/hr

On the flip side, in case anyone thinks my ego is inflated right now, I had ZERO WINNING DAYS DURING WSOP. I went 2/26 in mtt and both times I cashed I busted other events same day for a net loss. I only played cash a few times and the one time I won it wasn’t enough to overcome my mtt loss for the day. I did not play any 20/40 in Vegas but this streak is really only about one specific location anyways.

But yeah. Absolutely bonkers.

I've been playing there lately too, won 17 of my first 18 sessions, and only lost a little that time. Everyone else in the game must be on a losing streak.

For real? Do we know each other? I know you have been posting on here a long time but I didn’t know you were from my area. I’m curious now.

I Can only think of one person you might be.

Your best options for limit hold'em is going to be south.

Parx which is closer to NYC, has an occasional $40 game on Fridays. However, I'm not sure what the status is as far as lodging. There used to be a discount for a nearby hotel but not sure about that anymore. Depending on your stamina, you may forgo staying anywhere and just driving back to NYC when you're done playing as it's about an hour commute assuming traffic abides (which it normally doesn't).

Borgata has $20-40 Thursday through Sunday; the Sunday game is iffy as it may not go and starts laterish. All of the other games start relatively early in the morning, with $40 action rather inconsistent, but if it goes, it goes on Fridays and Saturdays.

As far I know, Foxwoods is dead for limit hold'em.

Hope that helps.

That is great info.

I have some info on private games in Manhattan and Brooklyn from a 2+2er but they are NL with MASSIVE rake plus my girlfriend loathes the idea of me playing in them.

Parx is prob going to be my top option. I will be taking the subway though. I really don’t want to drive in the city. I imagine some of my trips to Philly or AC will be multi-day trips.

LHE is my best game but I can play NL and PLO too and mix is by far my favorite to play. So I should be okay anywhere that has poker.

I’m going to look into getting a PokerStars account up and running too.

Are you moving to NYC soon? Or an extended visit?

I don't understand your comment about taking the subway to Parx. I didn't even think Philadelphia had a subway, but if they do it might not go to Parx, which is out in the suburbs. And then you'd still have to get to the area from NYC some other way. I assume there are still regular buses between NYC and Atlantic City, but to Parx is less likely.

My gf got signed to a modeling agency in NYC so she’s been out there since mid-June and is planning to stay til mid-September. I fly out tomorrow night and I’ll prob be there til she comes home. She’s also signed in WA and the current plan is to live here and she’ll go to NYC during the busy parts of the year. I want her to crush it but there’s no way I’d be able to play poker for a living in NYC so I hope that never has to be a decision we have to make. I have ZERO interest in living on the east coast.

The reason you don’t get my comment about subways in Philly is because I don’t know what I’m talking about. I looked up transit from Brooklyn to Parx and there’s a route but I didn’t look at it too closely. I might end up renting a car but I don’t want to drive in the cities. I had a panic attack from a low blood sugar episode in traffic once and now the threat of anxiety looms over me any time I find myself in traffic but especially in places I’m unfamiliar with.

It's been a long time since I went to Parx, but I don't remember it being a high stress driving area like NYC or downtown Philly.

No, Parx is in the burbs. Street road gets some traffic, but it's a straight 4 lane road. The only issue is all the chain restaurants and strip malls that line both sides, so lots of traffic merging in and out.

Traffic in NYC and PHL is more substantial. If you don't like traffic, don't drive in either.

Parx is a great room, but getting there from NYC or PHL is a pain if you don't have a car, the public transpo options are slim, involve transfers usually, etc. Your best bet may be to bite the bullet on an uber.

It does have 40-80 limit tues, wed, and sometimes fri. PLO (2-2, 5-5) runs basically all the time, 10-10 is maybe mostly on tues, though I'm not sure. There is a mix game on tues but it's big (75-150 and up). There is also a 6-12 OE and 10-20 Big O game that runs quasi-daily.

Yeah I’m mostly concerned about driving in the cities. I’d be starting in Brooklyn most likely and even close to where I am right now was kind of intimidating.

What’s the mix of that 75/150 game?

What are the games in the mix?
I did call the poker room and they said there were eight games. Need to know how many I will need to learn on the flight.

Thanks all.

What limit do you want to play? If 20/40 or 40/80 the games are usually limit big o, limit super stud/8, and some sort of dramaha variant. If 75/150 or 100/200, its usually a mix of 10-15 poker games of all variants. If 200/400+ you can probably pick the mix
