Going to WSOP in 2 days. First time playing live poker in a decade, with a couple very brief exceptions. Kinda concerned about a breakthrough COVID infection, especially since I have a health issue or two and I'm gonna take the mask off at the table, but YOLO. I'm excited. Probably going to spend at least one day "enjoying the nightlife", as it were.

And with that I conclude my regular practice of making back-to-back-to-back-to-back posts. Nothing is new under the sun.

Elo, that would have been pretty epic if you hardcore chat tilted on the Botez sisters since they have 1000+ viewers at any given time. I am self-banned from chess so that I will focus my time on studying/playing NL. It is pretty amazing how terrible I am at the game, but I think I am improving. In my last 95k hands of 25 NL Zone, I am winning at a 7+ BB/100 clip! I am looking forward to finally becoming competent enough to crush 200 Zone and take shots at 500 Zone.

I am glad you are crushing again! You might be the GOAT when it comes to just playing a ton, not studying, and still getting really good at poker. Nowadays, most regs refuse to believe that it is possible to beat 200 NL without zillions of hours working with PIO solver and a good coach.

As far as $3 per hand, I assume you mean at 30/60 LHE? That is a huge heater, but 5 BB/100 for a stretch is obv possible. But does that include your 200 and 500 NL? If so, that blows my mind. Your winrate must be off the charts to the point that you clearly belong in the 10/20 games.

As far as pre-flop charts, the only ones I know of are here:

https://solveoptimized.com/product/lhe-6h/

You would need to buy monkersolver and learn how to use it as well. That price is absurd imo, and I have no idea how good those ranges are. If you keep bringing it up ITT, someone in the know might PM you and offer to sell you some for a slightly less ridiculous price. I don't play LHE anymore, so I am not the person to ask.

As far as NL ranges, the ones on GTO Wizard are free. You just have to sign up through a google email and you can see them all. They use the pre-flop ranges as a way to advertise their post-flop product which costs a monthly fee to access.

Games at Commerce have picked up. There have been some huge donators in the 20/40 games lately.
10-09-2021 , 04:17 AM
I am surprised that Commerce hasn't run some promos to try and get their mid-high LHE players back from the Bike. It's like they don't even care.
10-09-2021 , 01:25 PM
It is like they don't even care; but I am not surprised at all. Last time I was at Commerce (3 years ago?) they had Ultimate Texas Holdem table games where the 20-40 and 40-80 games used to be.
10-09-2021 , 06:00 PM
For the last year, I have suspected commerce of not paying out the full promo fund. They still do not give comps for time played and have only partially restored the jackpots. They used to run promos every other month. Idk. Something fishy is going on there.

Instead of running promos they hired some hosts and nitty props. Despite that, the games have been great (go figure).

Goddammit, he's no longer the forum owner. Why in God's name can't I put Mason Malmuth on my Ignore list? In this forum he is effectively a troll.

I have 2 commerce $1k chips I'd like to unload for $1900 cash, venmo, crypto, check... anyone? I'm not going back any time soon

Doesn't BBB have a reputation for being able to make these things happen in his sleep?

Hopefully your trip in Vegas went well Elo! Congratulations on crushing online poker as well

Considering going to Mon and Thu 20/40 half kill home game again I haven't gone since December 2020. Let me know if you're interested if you are ever in Chicago.

Don’t take my seat.

Hope I don't offend anyone but I'd 100% give seat to Elo, Unguarded, or Don Juan in games I'm able to play.

Probably would pay Elo a significant amount for coaching too if offered.

It did. Now it doesn't. We'll all be dead soon anyways.

I assumed that NL would take over. Maybe a few players who want to play LHE will keep the games going as long as as they want to play? Haven't been up since Covid. Hope all the folks are all having a good time and good gambool.

The 30 has been getting one table every Friday and Saturday. Last Saturday there was a must move for the whole evening.

Somebody has some solved preflop ranges for fl sh for free?

Or atleast help me out in this situation. BU Openraises, SB 3bets, What do you coldcall in the BB getting 4.5:1? How much equity do you want vs say the following ranges.
22+,A2s+,K4s+,Q6s+,J7s+,T7s+,96s+,85s+,74s+,64s+,5 4s,43s,A2o+,K8o+,Q9o+,J9o+,T9o,98o BU
55+,A6s+,KTs+,QTs+,J9s+,T9s,98s,ATo+,KJo+ SB

No sure if these ranges are even good. I calculate all hands that have >26% equity vs both ranges and it looks like this for example:
22+
A2s+, K5s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T7s+, 97s+, 86s+, 75s+, 65s, 54s
A8o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo
11-11-2021 , 10:31 PM
Spoiler: You aren't getting 4.5:1.

yeah I noticed when I sent it, I am playing on some random site sometimes where the raise sizes are different.
I couldn't edit the post. So its 2bb raise, 3bb 3bet so 2 to call in bb with 6 in the pot, 3:1
But can someone answer my question?

That’s too wide on the offsuit hands. You’ll be in between the 3bettor and the original raiser too often to realize all your equity. So you’d rather have suited junk. And sometimes it gets capped behind you so you really shouldn’t be considering your direct odds as such.

You generally don't want to be flatting against an SB three bet, and incorporating any amount of it is pretty hard to balance properly, so in my view you are best off playing cap or fold. You can cap lighter than you might think, so much so that your ranges are not too far off what a capping range would look like. If you think either of the other players is playing too tight, you may want to adjust by tightening up yourself, unless you think they are also too fit-or-foldy post.

I thought it was pretty well-established that having a flatting range is fine out of the bb in a button r/sb 3b situation

Yes, it is correct in theory to have a flatting range here, but there are very few hands that are pure calls; it involves a lot of low frequency mixing and overall is still a fairly narrow range. I think that for us humans it is easier to just by default play it cap-or-fold, lopping off some of the weakest hands.

OP's post seems to suggest his strategy was to only flat and he had no caps here, which would be a very substantial mistake in almost all circumstances.
11-16-2021 , 02:08 PM
No, I think Its good to have a cap range multiway. Some hands just have a high equity edge and it makes sense to get in 3 additional smallbets with it right away. But capping as a bluff often doesn't seem so good to me. You just put in additional bets when you don't have an edge. Sometimes sure. If you get them to fold the best hand postflop thats amazing, but its difficult.

My posted ranges seem too loose for BU, SB and BB. (1-3 Kickers in the offsuited and suited) Thats why I just want to have a look at some GTO ranges.

And about realizing equity OOP, you definately need a lot more equity than the pot odds would say if its checked down. But how much as a rule of thumb, I don't know. Say in a BU raise, SB fold, BB situation. How many % you would start calling. Its 3.5:1, so if checked down that would be a call with any 2.

In limit holdem I only know the HU solution from http://poker.srv.ualberta.ca/preflop.
One thing that I have known for a while that it doesn't Cap preflop IP HU. I am pretty sure that also true for ringgames IP HU. However OOP I think GTO probably Caps. Why would you want to give your opponent the information that you have a 5-10% range instead of your 90% openraising range for just the edge on 1 extra smallbet especially when that extra Bet goes in on the flop anyways because the opponent has high cbet and you have position and could always bet.
