As it turns out, CrazyLond had already written up a great post in the Talking Stick thread about his experience playing the first night there:

It sounds like the staff is being super cool. I was so excited to see the first mid-stakes LHE games running since March, but probably won't be rushing in.
Alan, I suffer from extreme incompetence when it comes to big bet games. People always ask me about the games since they have a reputation for being ridic soft, but I have spent maybe 5 hours total in them. 1/2 usually plays quite a bit higher since lots of people straddle. And this may be normal live, but a typical open raise size is like $15 at 1/2 even when nobody straddles. Being an online guy, I was used to open raising for 2.5x to steal the blinds. But I found out the hard way that tossing out a $5 chip without saying anything counts as an open limp when the dealer quickly made change and tossed me $3 back!
I have gotten so addicted to live poker (huge poser... yes, I know) that I might actually give them another try. If you have a clue in live NL, you would be a beast in those games. People look at me like I am an idiot when I tell them I have hardly played in the Austin scene.
