Re: 2020 HI content

a wise man, perhaps doug(? idk) once told me to only keep money online that I can lose without the feel badds.

another wise man (jonlocke for sure imo) once said here that he cashes out to the effect that he can lose whatever is left over without the feel bads.

doug also told me(when btc was 290 usd/coin i sold a lot wtf lol hindight) that its all just numbers on a screen until you withdraw and get cash.

but my favorite wise man, bigbadbabar once said: gogogogogogogo

ymmv

Re: 2020 HI content

My apologies in advance for derailing a very LC / NC question.

Should Bill Laimbeer be hired as new Head Coach for an NBA team that may have coaching change such as
1. MN Timberwolves
2. Chicago Bulls
3. Nets?

PS: I consider Michael Jordan as best NBA / basketball player ever

PS 2: Confident Bill Laimbeer style of Defense should be what ALL NBA players should play like in my biased opinion

Isiah Thomas regretful, Bill Laimbeer defiant for Bulls snub in 1991 playoffs

Re: 2020 HI content

Jordan best ever. I’m still disappointed that there was no mention of his defensive player of the year awards in his introduction to the hall of fame.

Re: 2020 HI content

Don't want to make a whole thread, and maybe I'm just bad, but does this hand/river strike anyone as odd? Especially if you've seen some other...interesting...stuff from this Reg.

Seat 1 FOLD
Seat 2 FOLD
Player 1 raises $40.00 to $40.00
Seat 4 FOLD
REG raises $50.00 to $60.00
Seat 6 FOLD
Player 1 calls $20.00
*** FLOP *** [Qd Qc Qs]
Main pot $138.60 | Rake $1.40
REG bets $20.00
Player 1 calls $20.00
*** TURN *** [Qd Qc Qs] [3d]
Main pot $178.20 | Rake $1.80
REG bets $40.00
Player 1 raises $80.00 to $80.00
REG calls $40.00
*** RIVER *** [Qd Qc Qs 3d] [3c]
Main pot $337.00 | Rake $3.00
REG checks
Player 1 bets $40.00
REG folds
Uncalled bet ($40.00) returned to Player 1
Player 1 does not show

Is folding the river suspicious in limit holdem? I don't get the question here.

Is Cepheus down for anyone? I have been trying to play it for the past week, but can never get anything going. I am always just stuck on waiting...

I play bad so I probably call river even with 22.

Pretty sure calling river is horrendous if done.at 100% frequency.

Curious at what % HERO / reg that chk/folded river should be C/R bluffing river or donk bluffing river with worse than the board.

PS 1: Think HERO / reg should he chk/folding river at some % based on game flow.

PS 2: Bluffing river by HERO /reg should be close to 0% or never in my biased opinion

I'm not sure I believe in gameflow, unless you're explain it by villain playing badly in different ways based on recency bias. Then, can you read that well enough here to fold a clearly profitable call? That would be "based on gameflow", your read of ranges says call and you fold because of this thing. If the reg is decent, reasonably balanced, and you misread "I need to bluff some % here" as his recency based tilt, you end up self-owning.

I know live players can be terrible in this way, but the whole "reg" tag makes me want to not make big deviations. This is the LC thread, so maybe liveread = just do this because we know?

If you were behind on the river, you were already behind on the turn. Thus, it is possible that (within some reading error margin) you know 100% you aren't beat -- the river actions already happened on the turn with basically the same hand values, so you have that information. If that's the case, bluffing is free. Even if it never works...

If you expertly explain the turn, I think the river comes down to maths. I suspect the maths will tell you that 0EV spew could work on both sides for fun and profit.

+1

Thank you Very Much DougL!

Making a takingbacksunday / take back comment but agree 0EV spew can work both ways on river if turn played expertly

OT Info from 10+ Years Ago:
Online pro showed Annual or All Time Chart with below:

$ Won overall
EV won/ahead
$ won with SD
$ won without SD

Really struck me with how important $ won without SD is/was for online pro.

However, think the pro may have been NL unless it was online LHE pro

Confident DonJuan graphs are amazing and he's one of the best if not the best LHE player currently

Nothing against anyone but I'm sure DonJuan ROI via Poker, investments, life is quite high vs all

PS: Hopefully, DonJuan crushing without getting hit and ran or buttoned so far in 2020

I just assume that ZOMG had made so much money playing poker that he could no longer be bothered to play poker.
