I'm right there with you. I have no trust for online. That being said, I may be forced to depending how this virus goes.

Any guesses when we might see casinos open back up? What kind of safety measures might they put into place? Are electronic tables still a thing? Not having to touch chips might be wise for a while.

I can't imagine playing for at least a couple months at the soonest.

It's going to take six (at the most optimistic) to eighteen months to develop an effective vaccine for the virus, and it will take longer than that to ramp up production of such a vaccine to the point where large fractions of the population can be inoculated. Until that time, as long as the virus is at large in the population, close gatherings of people such as happen at a poker table are going to be opportunities for spreading the disease.

I can't say when casinos and poker rooms are going to reopen; but from where I sit, it looks to me like whenever they do open, it is not going to be a good idea at all to play live poker for something on the order of a year or more.

Congratulations DonJuan!

PS: Think might be beneficial if you start HUHU Challenge with 70% online & 30% live which certain casinos should 100% allow (ex: Commerce). Escrow process should be easier too and some casinos drop HUHU rake to like a dollar (Hammond Horseshoe).

This may equate to people NOT hit and running you and/or taking last BTN 99% of time.

Just an idea since I'd love to watch you crush people Online & Live

PS 2: Return of HUHU Freezeout 2020 for DonJuan unless CrazyMike making return post Qurantine

Never met SurfDoc.

Guy from Hordeshoe nicknamed Doc ended with his 1st name.

One of bedt guys that I've played live vs though although some may disagree but shorthanded vs Doc was one of the best at Horseshoe Hammomd

I've enjoyed working from home greatly during Quarantine so doubtful I'd head for Hammond Horseshoe unless interest involves Sean Snyder (close to 0%) or DonJuan (close to 0%)

Yeah guys being dead isn't super fun. I wouldn't recommend it. But if I do die it will either be Covid or head injury/drowning from some wave I was not supposed to ride over a way too shallow reef. Judging from the fact that the beaches are closed I would bet on the former.

Glad to hear you're doing well, and that someone was able to Beetlejuice you. Was just thinking that a bunch of my old-school buddies used to do an April 15 Vegas trip, and feeling a little sadness that the place is closed. I'm sure the pit boss at the old Imperial Palace is also feeling sad about missing out one their strictly amateur-hour card counting. Wonder what % of their profits come from wanna-be counters who also get feelings from time to time.

Abdul Jalib used to say that Thorpe's Beat the Dealer was the best thing ever to happen to casinos' blackjack take, because amateurs typically suck at counting.
04-15-2020 , 03:41 PM
My friends would be an example of that.

It's also not hard to ban the people with any significant expectation

Watched that in real time at the Venetian. Took HammerinHank like 2 hands to get backed off. Other people in our group were allowed unlimited action.

Thanks for this.

Feel very -EV in life to blow at counting cards live but thankfully I am and almost never play any table games unless blackout in Vegas.

PS: My best friend phenomenal at counting but 99% of time blackout and think lost like 20k one night when 18 in Minnesota (legal in MN). Thankfully, he won more at online NL site that no longer exists and crushes black jack when he plays so just get black out enough and hope to never get banned

PS 2: Best friend generally had at least 1-2 real female he befriended (non hooks) so maybe have real females to never get banned?

What happened with boom and mania?

I searched the forum and skimmed a thread where it covered Mania closing shop and having some issues paying folks out but didn't find anything about cheating. Cliffs on both please!

Giving credit, and any way to cheat = people cheating and not paying. Ponzis gonna ponzi.

Letting a bunch of degens play 4 to 6 tables of 40 online with $5 a hand dropping seems pretty sane and safe for everyone.
04-18-2020 , 03:25 PM
I get the implosion related to credit.

Was there proof of cheating? Are the web based games in some way inherently insecure?
04-18-2020 , 11:37 PM
Do i think the site was hacked? Idk ..

Having the ability to have 2 3,4,5 guys in a room whipsawing or just playing best hand or colluding? Or playing 2 or 3 accounts. Those things happened and will always happen online.
04-20-2020 , 01:59 AM
Have any of you live players made the transition to online during the pandemic? I don't think it's gonna happen for me. Maybe I'll put a little in and tinker with some tournaments. I don't know how you can trust these sights though.
