re: 2019 HI CONTENT

Shoveled an hour ago and cleaned off my car. When I came back out there was at least another half inch on my car and you could barely tell I shoveled at all.

I love this state.

I walked to the Oaks yesterday. The sun was shining. Today I was given a ride there and took the bus home.

re: 2019 HI CONTENT

I don't quite remember the action, but I had a hand where I raised preflop with AT and it was either 3bet, or I was raised on the flop. It was 4 handed going into the turn.

Flop is AQT and I was either raised or I just called the preflop 3bettor. Turn is a J and first guy checks, and both the people behind me instantly grab for chips in a manner that makes me think they don't want a bet so I bet, and they both fold and I get a call from the blind and he c/f to his river bet.

Note: I wasn't bluffing.

What the actual...

I laugh at the people in the thread standing up for the guy with the lame sucker punch/tackle. Angry dude was clearly being guided to the cage to cash out and then what, taken to a back room where they explain their trespassing policy and how long he had to stay off the property? Random jerk decides to save people by creating a MMA match? From what I can tell, the biggest risk before he showed up was that people would fill up the SD cards on their phones with the "look at that crazy guy" videos. Once the situation becomes a fight, a bunch of folks could potentially get hurt. You're in a place with a ton of security, the idea that you becoming rambo is somehow helpful is dumb. Maybe there's an extremely rare circumstance where dude on the left can help out, but that entire video looked like the casino staff was professional and had things going the way they wanted.

I have a friend who trained with serious martial artists (pros, cage fighters, people like that), and he always laughed about the "justified self-defense fantasy". In his paradigm, a certain kind of person who thinks they're tough has a temptation to use the skills (real or imagined) they have to "protect" innocent people. They're looking for situations to play hero. If you told me that this guy doing the tackling was a brown belt at some mall dojo, it would add confirmation bias to my friends story.

I raise QhJh in MP and get called by both loose passive blinds. And I mean as loose and as passive as they come. Flop JT9dd and they both check call. Turn A, they check I bet and only SB calls. River offsuit K and he cc with AdQd.

I lost two racks in this game today (probably because I ran A9 into AA on a A9749 run out).

re: 2019 HI CONTENT

Ah yeah - apparently been far too long since I have seen that movie.

I played (potentially overplayed) this hand aggressively based on the player involved. Villain is your standard weak tightish losing player who just loves to show and talk about hands where he was ahead PF. Which basically means he overplays big hands and shows them down when he shouldn’t. Like I open AQ, he will 3! KK and then call all bets when an A flops so that he can pity show his hand.

In this instance, I open A9o in the CO, he 3! AA from BB and I call.

Flop A97r and I bet / 6 bet the flop. Raise / 4 betting the flop seems pretty standard, but I admit the 6 bet is pretty optimistic even against this guy. I mean in retrospect what can he have that 3! PF and 5! the flop that I am ahead of?

Anyway he CR the turn and I just called one the 9 peeled off on the river.

I played drunken $4 $8 in New Orleans last night. It was great.

I open AT in cut off, three remaining call.

I go bet bet bet on a 3455A board. I get check raised on the river by SB, BB calls I call and beat 94 and 88

Guy next to me limps, I see he has an ace. Usually I announce this but it’s $4/$8 and I’m drunk, I raise 99 and it is 62 ways to the flop.

AT9cc. He check calls. Turn 4c.

He check/folds.

You would think all casinos would have proper training on protocol for these situations. Given the diversity of people and the high emotions involved it should be standard. I don't know how many times I have seen a dealer or even a floor look like they are a deer in headlights.

The screamer should have a significant time off. His actions are very serious in that this could have resulted in an even worse situation than it was. I don't think he should be banned because I believe all people should be given a path to redemption. That being said, It sure seems that there are some anger management issues at minimum going on here. I think the casino should make sure these issues have been addressed before allowing him back.

I haven't heard the whole story of the other guy but experience has taught me that trying to be the hero or good guy typically doesn't end well.

From the video, I thought the CAZ staff looked super in control on the situation. Maybe you could disagree with their plan, but it seemed like they were going to let him blow off steam, get him to the cage, and then whatever next.

Agree.

I take issue with the attacker being a good guy. When you look at escalating a situation to a physical confrontation, you need a reason. Dude was yelling. Did he threaten anyone? No. Did he move like he was going to hit or attack anyone? No, just walking around making a scene with racked chips in his hands. If reasonable person thought someone was about to be attacked, we could have an argument about random dude stepping in and the roles of good guy. This guy just took a sucker-punch move because he thought he could get away with it.

I'm making a general statement about all casinos and my experience observing situations like this. I have no clue how the security would grade out on this one.

I have no clue why the attacker did what he did. I have no clue whether he is a good guy or not. One action should not define a person. I was just making a comment that trying to be a hero or good guy often doesn't end well.

I thought this was at Talking Stick? Or is Talking Stick and CAZ one and the same? I have always been confused by this, because on Google they look like two different places but Bravo only has Talking Stick.

I'm likely wrong about the exact casino. CAZ jumped to mind with no basis.

We call it Casino Arizona.

Technically Casino Arizona is a few miles south, but they don't have a poker room, so nobody talking about poker would ever confuse the two.
