That also means we can't bluff cap if we don't checkraise with our bluffs. Not having the option to put in the last bet when we're both bluffing is a disaster. So obviously we have to checkraise the nuts here too.
Lots of good discussion here, this should probably be lifted from the HI CONTENT thread.
Funny cooler from tonight. Wondering if I put in too much action. lol
Utg raises it up with a speech about being tilted. Fish/donkey calls. Folds to me in the big blind with kings and I threebet. Utg says “i’m really steaming... cap it!” We both call.
Flop is qj4 rainbow
I check, utg checks, donkey bets, I raise, utg calls, 3bet, we both call.
Turn is qj4 4
I chexk, utg checks, donkey bets, I raise, utg 3bets with a speech about needing a 4. Wtf? Donkey folds, I call.
Yes. The one following the first raise isn't a big deal, the one with the cap is a red alert. Especially with the board, you lose to AA, QQ, JJ. What are you hoping he caps with along with a very strong speech? AQ, AK? TT? The other KK?
Haha yeah I definitely played this hand like a fish. Then the very next hand I won a 6 way cap pot with T9 offsuit. IOW: if you see me in the game it must be good.
Well to be fair the guy was playing absolutely insane prior to this with a vpip of close to 80.
VP$IP of 80 means he's loose. Great, loose players have a wide range, and we'll typically assume loose and passive go together. If his PFR was 80%, then maniac preflop? Was he putting in the possible last raise on every street? If so, then I'd change my thinking. If he's a loose player who suddenly became aggressive, then

Ameristar BH 30/60 last night (note: WPT Deep Stacks is in town but this table is full of bad regs)
UTG puts out the straddle, Hero 3b KK from gun+1, UTG+2 folds, everybody calls until BB (maniac Asian guy who VPIP is ~ 95% and AF preflop is 80%) who 4b, straddle calls, Hero 5b (5b cap because of the straddle), all call (8 players @ 2.5 bbs =20 bbs). Flop is AT4, SB chks BB bets straddle folds Hero calls, gun+3 calls, gun+4 raises, folds to SB who calls, BB 3b and gun+4 caps (5 players @2 bbs=10 bbs, 30 total). Turn is 6, BB bets, Hero calls, gun+3 raises (she definitely has the flush here), gun+4 calls, SB, BB, and Hero call (40 bbs total). River is a blank, checked to gun+3 who bets, gun+4 calls as does SB, BB and Hero fold getting 43:1!
Biggest pot I’ve ever seen in big bets.
Spoiler:
Gun+3: Q9
Gun+4: set of tens
SB: Ax8 (needless to say he’s good for the game)
Spoiler:
Holy cow, Jesse posting! What next, dogs and cats living together? Cally posting?
Spoiler:
If you didn't get the joke in the 2nd spoiler it's from Stripes (it's a movie starring Bill Murray)
Everyone giving the hand advice, you realize the AA doesn't put in an aggressive action postflop until the turn 3bet? The tilty guy's hand looks like AK way more than AA/QQ/JJ until the turn check/3bet.
I fully endorse the play of the hand until you call down, but I also call down people I don't trust here enough to not claim it's an easy fold.
The Bicycle card room in LA is worth a visit for LHE action. I haven't stayed either place but have heard the Bike's hotel is nicer/newer than Commerce's.
The Gardens has been losing players recently. Not sure if it has to do with dropping two dollars preflop even on a chop, but that certainly hasn’t helped. Right now commerce and bike are the best places to play. Bike has some good 40 games going on the weekends but the games at commerce last longer through the night. The 20 game at commerce has no kill, the 20 game at bike has a half kill so that might be a consideration.
I actually quite like it for that reason. It’s certainly not lacking in action, although of course some games are just nittier (which is also true at bike). The same is true for the 40 game (commerce no kill, bike half kill). Hawaiian gardens also has no kill for both games.
