I enjoyed your posts.

I don't know who discouraged you or why, but I would recommend ignoring them. I'd also like to see more of your posts.

I tried to inject some life into the forum a while back but was told not to post for a few day's. This makes no sense to me on such a low traffic forum. As you can see, we went from about a post a day to nothing. I have since found other more effecient way's to use my study time.

I'm curious if there are others out there who would like to get back to posting, responding, and discussing hands. I'd be willing to do my part.

this is an interesting take!

i think i might have given you some flack about that too. sorry.
i think people don't post as much any more because most of us are just hacks. not even tryhards. just straight up hacks. this is why we have to move on to other games. once we've memorized a certain amount of good posts and reach a high enough level of emulating what we think actual good players do, there's not much more to learn because we don't even know how to elevate our own games through our own work. so we just move on to another game, and learn how to mimic the pros there. keep going, play mix and now a hack of all trades has the same wr as a master of one. that's all the mediocrities like myself and many others can do.

I think a lot of frequent posters don't play a lot of LHE hands anymore so there is no source material for hands. Maybe I'm wrong.

I, for one, am not very good at remembering hands (or writing them down at the table). I'm also not very good at identifying hands that other people think are interesting. I'll try to do better, as I do play pretty frequently (and by that I mean like once a week).

I try a few every time I play, which is about twice a month now. I got criticized for it by a few, although I concede that some of the hands were standard. Would love to see more posts.

i think its 2 things

1) people who put in a lot of volume at live limit know most of their player pool, so they very rarely get into a super interesting spot. and often many of these players have access to solvers that could help them figure out the correct answer on their own time. this is why i think you're rarely ever gonna see a 80/160+ hand posted here these days, it just too easily fits this category.

2) you have posters like me who enjoy limit but rarely ever get to play it because it's not spread high enough at their local casinos

so you end up with a lot of hands posted at like 20/40 and 40/80ish level by people most interested in learning and generally against player pools that are less known and more presumed to do wacky things (thus making the hands multiway, more debatable, and less solver friendly)

Even in Vegas there isn't a strong feeder economy to get to the 20/40 and 40/80. I guess you do 2/4 at Flamingo, 1 game of 4/8 and 10/20 at Bellagio, or 8/16 at Orleans to get to the 20/40+.
This seems to be the problem everywhere unless you’re at Canterbury, Talking Stick, or LA. Even if I could play regularly there’s no chance I could feed into the 20 from my 4/8 game, especially with a recent rake increase, 5+2 now.

Let’s also not forget the fear of being banned if you tell someone that’s wrong they are wrong

Is this a valid fear? Banning people for dissent in strategic advice seems like the nut high best way to destroy the value of a forum.

Seriously, the nuts--better to have an unmanageable morass of spam or personal attacks. I can just skip over those, but I might alter my play based on filtered groupthink in the selective banning case.

This is definately true in the poltics forum. Folks are overly sensitive over there. I haven't seen it on this forum.
