Texting with my buddy:

Qph: I just popped my single session $10K cherry!
Buddy: winning or losing?

I ran as pure as the driven snow in the 1/2 mixed game at Bellagio on Tuesday, it was epic. Makes up for all the run bad I've been having to this trip.

Brag: Won $10K at 1/2 mixed while learning how to play drawmaha/drawmaha A-5/drawmaha 2-7 (note: there's only 1 draw, doh!)
Spoiler:
Beat: I am about 10^-6 the baller of dadjoey

So in case you're wondering what you have to look forward to when you play Seniors events, this was the third hand at my table here at day 1B of Venetian Seniors (15000 starting stack, 50/100 blinds)

Third hand, woman opens to 300, button calls sb calls Bb folds. Flop Q54 2-tone, chk, she bets 5200!

But wait for it...

SB checkraies to 10400! And she folds!
He shows a set of 4s

Sweet TR.

Seems like a lost cause with everyone at WSOP, but in case any of you are still in LA, I am visiting this weekend for a wedding. If you'll be at commerce and want beer, I will join for a cocktail.

I guess she learned how to play NL from watching Rounders.

Oh damn. I just finally got on the server rental game, too, and didn't use a referral

Running pure: I've been playing 1/2 mixed at B for 4 hours, I have paid time zero times (time flops)

I remembered why i avoided the bellagio for years... a pretty annoying poker room.

The limit floor people are the worst ever and act as though they're doing some ****bag like you a ridic favor by doing things like placing you on a list.

Constantly get bumped into. as there isn't enough room to walk and the chairs stick out. After a few hours it's really tilting.

The food situation sucks and is super expensive.

The chip runners can only take 2500 and the line at the cage is always long. For higher than 2500 the floor has to do it and while in line wont carry the list. which leaves nobody at the podium for like 10 minutes.

The dealers are actually pretty decent. I didn't have any issue there. And there was an NL floor who had a good attitude.

I doubt I'll be going back next year.

It's like that for NL too. Except the last time I played there, maybe 4 months ago, they had no chip runners and nobody did fills. New players would show up with blacks and had to get change from players because the dealer had only $1 chips. I asked about it and the dealer said they don't do fills. As long as they can take rake it looked like they didn't give a crap about the players or the dealers.

I've never had an experience like that at Bellagio in the last 4-5 years. Never had a problem at the cage and the floors have always been pretty nice.

Then again, I rarely go during WSOP, so maybe their stress is through the roof during this time of year.

Was thinking about this vs BK's post. This seems like their biggest month, and so maybe things suck a bit due to volume. I typically go to the cage and don't use chip runners. If it were just a brush issue, I'd suggest tipping as a fix. However if they're legit slammed, probably nothing helps.

BK, if you're looking for suggestions on stuff to do different, I think quantph and tiger415 are playing there a lot. Sorry that the place is getting you down. Hate to suggest the room with $12/half + time, but I hear that the King's Room has great food and good chairs. Sucks to support the highest rake in town, tho

ive always found the floor situation to be the primary weakness of bellagio, esp in top section. my theory is that it's always a zoo and bellagio tries to save money, so their solution is to hire only a few people but make it so they are crack-the-whip take-no-crap-from-anyone kinda personalities.

now that i think about it, i dont think theres a top section in vegas that's really all that good in terms of comfort and service and cage etc. feel like just about all of em are a little bit cramped.

maybe thats why kings room feels justified in their rake increase, cuz they have nice food and its spacious. iirc they have the auto sufflers there too right?
06-14-2018 , 02:35 PM
Not much to be done about the B, it's just such a zoo. The lists are long but mostly dead. There's nowhere to sit and if your seat is near a walking path you're gonna get bumped. The cage has been better than in previous years, but if you try to cash out when they're changing dealers (charging time) the lines can be a bit slower.

I guess for me, I want to play mixed games, this is the place to do that.

In any event, I'm at the B today rockin' the quantph custom Converse all stars and a geeky science shirt, say hi if you see me

A few years ago they took out two or three tables to make it less crowded, but they put them back for WSOP. Other times of the year it's really not that tight.

Don't know why players would be showing up at the game with just black chips and expecting to change them at the table. I wish everyone would just go the the cage themselves and let the brushes do their main job of getting people seated quickly instead of getting chips for tips.

I left town already but I was one of the dicks in the 50/100 lhe at the rio that random night. (young red head) my buddy texted me as i was headed somewhere else.

I can't believe the game went from full to broken when I took a quick break.

And then unbroken after all of you nits left as some indian guy walked up and wanted to be relieved of his 3000 3 handed.

How the game started was kind of funny (told from scott from canada). He said he and this rec player wanted to play heads up...so they started it at the rio. Except they never got to play a hand because the rec player is kinda ocd and got tilted at the shot clock on the wooden rail and ripped it out and got banned on the spot from the rio. HA!

Those kings tables are stupiddddd. But at least there is space. And the free food was awesome.
