My wife is Vietnamese native so she can show you great restaurants in Chicago if your palet is more accustomed to Vietnamese food.

Vegas should be worth your time especially with comped rooms assuming you play enough hours of poker at high enough stakes.

If you could only choose one city to visit in USA though, I would recommend LA because no live LHE game will ever get better than Commerce in my biased opinion.

Ton of other casinos in LA too that spreads LHE as well. Also pricey location but women are more attractive if you goto bars and food is better than Vegas in my biased opinion for that.

If you have plans for stopping by Chicago even as layover, PM me so I can grab lunch with you or buy you a drink at airport
Im in Chicago as well and will definitely take restaurant recommendations.

Nah but you get a special rate that's sometimes $5-10 better than you can find online. And the floor that sets it up only expects like a $20 tip

Lol makes sense.

My friends are degenerates gamblers and usually get fully comped rooms via Blackjack, craps, bacarat, etc they play at Harrahs.

May not have been during WSOP and I have friends that live out there / were born and raised there so I usually stay at their place if rooms in Strip is booked / too expensive.

Thanks for info BicycleKick!

I'm sure my degenerate gambling friends are going to LHE event or two so will let them know rooms aren't comped.

Can confirm. Bellagio is not generous with room and food comps unless you degen really hard.

Something that worked out for me initially was booking through AMEX Fine Hotel's and Resorts. That gives me a $30 breakfast credit per person, $100 food credit per stay, complimentary upgrades, early check ins and late check outs. This comes in handy since I travel with my SO and everything at the Bellagio is expensive.

Once you hit certain MLife statuses you'll be eligible for free parking, free valet, and % discounts when booking directly through the Bellagio.

The only meaningful comps I've ever received in Vegas were at whatever the Rio property is (Harrah's or Caesar's?) after blasting $500+ a hand in blackjack while blacked out at their respective Atlantic City property. Once I used up whatever comps I milked from that (entire summer free at the Rio including a 2nd room for a while, some food, some free play), they have given me 0 offers to entice me to continue gambling with them.

Wynn still sends me decent offers following a weekend where I fired pretty heavily on craps way back in 2011.

Southpoint has actually been pretty generous with me betting only quarters in blackjack.

I have received $0 in comp value from cash game poker play in Las Vegas. I got some sort of not particularly generous poker rate when I was staying at the Aria playing there every day in Ivey's Room.

The Daily Resort Fee is the most ****ed up things about Vegas. Whoever implemented that should burn in hell.

Le Colonial is Vietnamese and has the best lunch deal in town, the pho.

You don't have to beg and tip for food comps at Bellagio anymore. You earn $2 per hour of play. It's not as easy to use as CET though. You have to get a printed comp at the poker room and can only use it at certain restaurants in the property. Pretty sure Aria and other MGM properties use the same system.

Ah cool thanks. Vietnamese wife very +Ev.

Here a freebie on what one of the range looks like. You guys got to figure out who range it is though. surprisingly at this age in lhe not a lot of people solve 6 max. Probably less than a full hand count.

Yeah spending much time on lhe in 2018 only makes academic sense.

i bet you could make a few to many multiples of what you're making at lhe if you put your solver time towards no limit.

Do you mean driving away DonJuan, Sean Snyder, or Bicycle Kick? Cuz all 3 are pretty good players/posters . . .

Also, no one drives them away. People either decide to post or decide not to post. They aren't sheep.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm rooting for my friend's uncle Larry in this 300k No Limit Holdem Aria Super High Roller Bowl (I don't think they have a limit version at these stakes, yet). He went into semi-retirement before 50 and loves to play poker. He won some recent WPT and then was invited to play on the PAD cash game and was the last wildcard chosen to play the 300k.

His story is a little more special than most imo, given that despite all the thrills of victory he's undoubtedly experienced over his life, he recently experienced the most agonizing defeat I could imagine - burying his son. I didn't plan on posting about this until I spoke to my buddy and found out he had revealed this tragic event in an interview w WPT site.

I met his nephew through work and when he told me his uncle enjoyed poker, I just figured the guy donked around a little (my friend has always worked hard and I didn't realize his uncle was wealthy until he won this MTT). I guess my read was a little off hehe.

Pretty crazy to think that a single buy-in for these big bet players is more than the best LHE players running hot will make in a year. If uncle Larry could pick himself off the mat and win a WPT, play on PAD, and the SHR Bowl, I reckon he has solved life.

Guessing that Sean means "full ring and not 6m, because people only play 6m online" when he's talking about games people actually play. If not, then something that isn't LHE. While all of Don's list is cool, it is focused on online games that aren't really played in USA#1. If he moves to the US, he'll see. Then, it is DrElo "can I survive playing lollive poker" time. I'm guessing he makes it.
