Sigh, another year here.

2018 update: opponents' new years resolution to play better poker has not been achieved thus far.

Happy new year. Holiday chaos is over; I can go back to focusing on my real priorities.

Thinking about playing the 1100 LHE event at LAPC. Any experience with/thoughts about this event?

Review the blind structure during the middle levels. A good blind structure should allow for adequate play on average ( >5 big bets, 10 seems better actually.) If not then it comes down to who can hit more cards and not get bad beat.

Subscribing. 2017 was my second worst year of cash ever and my best year of tournaments ever. This trend is...concerning yet profitable.

You've gone to the dark side. Congrats on a good year.

Looking forward to OTR and Jon posting about "well known tourney pro opens (whatever those guys open), I 3 bet light to get HU..."

Glad 2017 is over for poker. I had too much hubris and played poorly and drunk for too much of the year. Got sober in September and recommit to playing better. Results followed. 2018 will be a good year. The promotion I've been waiting on for ages is up for grabs in about 10 months so time to run hot.

Buddy: Hey Quantph, are you at the Ameristar if so is it worth coming up games any good

Qph: I am, there's a short list. The guy on my direct left open limped the button when we were 4 handed if that's any indication of the game quality

Buddy: see you in 15 minutes

Don't the bots open limp the button sometimes? Guy might be an expert.

Moved out of my apartment into my friends apartment then moved my parents out of my house and I moved back in and fixed it up and sold it then moved into a hotel and now going to move into another friends apartment until I close on my new condo at which time I will be moving again......Is this a run on sentence?

In conclusion, I am looking forward to focusing on Poker in 2018 and not moving.

jesus that sounds awful

The only thing I particularly like about owning is that I don't have to constantly worry about living arrangements anymore. Moving is the worst.

You don't like the fact that you are saving money vs. renting?

Hugely debatable point, especially in a high price:rent ratio area like Boston, since a place I'd rent would probably just be a 1 br.

FWIW way more true in a more sane market like Phoenix and Dallas.

very good NL player is willing to prop bet at even odds that he can beat the bay 101 4/8 game (played with a $6 drop+1$ if river is seen, chopped pots $1) over some interval of time T. For what values of T would you take his side of the bet or my side? We'll allow him to play till the blinds when the time is done.

I would take your side over any interval.

Don’t bet too much, else he could have his friends sit in the game and dump money.
01-07-2018 , 06:28 PM
That would be too obvious because they would actually fold sometimes.

If it was like half hour, you don't think he could get an edge by playing till he was up like 2 big blinds or so, then folding every hand afterwards?
