LA they throw out a time pot button then when they win dealer asks him for time then asks players that are paying own for theirs. so since she doesn't post her time till after I've already played time pot no way for me to know when she forgets to announce she's out

The latter is easy to fix. Call it the "LHE: we'll coddle you and explain basic concepts slowly" and "LHE: look if you want free advice on how to beat bigger games you're expected to put in a ton of work on your own." Or whatever.

Admittedly, the former is not. Sure, it would be best if everyone just tried to be as nice as possible while giving good advice. But that has been an unpopular opinion when I've suggested that in the past. So two forums, one in which people expect basic concepts to be fully explained, one in which people are expected to understand basic concepts already, makes sense to me.
while least likely to be implemented thus would def be the best result, and what i half serious/half joking suggested earlier

I'm sure the people that give the good responses will respond accordingly.

What if we have one forum and list the good posters in a sticky? :P

tbh, I don't think it makes much of a difference. So as long as there are two nc/lc threads that cover different conversations, we'll be good.

We could also have just one forum (the traffic really doesn't justify two forums) and leave it to peoples' discretion as to how to behave. But I think that puts a significant burden on the mods, plus, again from past experience, you're going to get a lot of not-nice comments directed at really nice, well-meaning people who happen to be really bad at poker. I'll point to a poster named threeducks who - god bless his soul - tried so so so so hard and failed so so so so hard. He literally changed his screen name so he could get a fresh start (and I think quit posting altogether when he started receiving really negative comments on his second account).

It's the concept we don't like.

Since this idea is the only one that anyone has openly been opposed to (5 of us so far I think), my vote would be that we let it go and not bring it up again.

Yeah, commerce collection pot practices are pure aids.

Re: 2017! NC/LC THREAD! let us gogogogo

(commerce collection pots)
They're very simple if you're always out. You just toss money when the light comes on,hear the chime, or hear the dealer say collection pot.

That's it.

And the same goes for not chopping.

There's no bull**** if you never chop. Unless you can't handle a little banter like 'ohh table bully eh'.

Live players are so laughably bad in the blinds too that it seems like giving up too much unless the rake is obnoxious. I wouldn't be surprised if at 6/12 or even a full table 8/16 game that's raked 5 dollars plus a jackpot 1 plus 1 tip (all assuming a decent pot i suppose) that chopping might be the way to go though. I really don't know and I probably should given how long I've played this game.

Do you guys who pay your own time also refuse to chop time pots? I can see an argument for calling that angleshooty, but I guess if you're consistent, **** em?

Re: 2017! NC/LC THREAD! let us gogogogo

At CAZ i know most of players so i don't have problems putting up and collecting time, in all the years i've done it i've never been stiffed. But i gave slept in time pots before (done dealers think they can't even say anything). But overall I do my best to keep games friendly and moving quickly, and noticed lately more regs help with time pots and making sure i get paid.

I've never had anyone opt out except for one huge fish, who nobody minds.

But at the commerce i'm a tourist, so I'm just going to assume regs will try to angle me, so i'm better off never playing time pots or chopping.

Yeah I remember feeling angled a few times in time pots at commerce where everyone apparently just knows who's in and who's not and I only find out when one of them is supposed to pay but doesn't feel like it. And you have the dealers taking money out of the time pot, then collecting from anyone who wanted to be out after, so I'm sure I ended up paying a few people's time who were out when they won the time pot.

Time pots are stupid and I've no idea why anyone would like them. Just get $1 chips and pay your own.

At Bay 101, throughout the down, the dealers stack their $5s and $1s in groups of $9 (time is $11). When the timer goes off, people throw out an assortment of $11, $15, $20, and $21 increments and the dealer plops out a giant mixed stack for easy change. Time collection takes about the same number of seconds as raking in a limped 1/2 NL pot preflop, and nobody is ever angled, or accused of angling.

Is it still Bodog outside of the US? Is it the same player pool as Ignition?

Is there any good LHE on ignition? I just recently made an ACR account and have been seeing the profits... Along with a huge pool of nitty regs, semi decent tourney action though (I've also been running very well and cashing), however not a ton of LHE on the site. I'm mostly converted to a live player but it's nice being able to play online from the comfort of my home once in awhile as well.

Yes, there is still plenty of lhe action on Ignition. Compared to ACR, there are more games, softer games (generally), and its anonymous. Not that ACR doesn't have games, but I'd estimate there is like a 10/1 ratio of flhe games that are running on Ignition/ACR. Also, once a table fills on Ignition you cant see it from the lobby.

Babar has a lot of info re the features of the site, setting up account, etc so prob easiest to just ask him if he can assist you.

I wish they would change that to at least show that a full table exists and let you go on a wait list. It doesn't really make sense to hide it because if a player drops you could just open it up and watch the game even after it fills up. Then you have an advantage over the people just watching the lobby.
