Yeah, I don't know why dealers are so reluctant to sell chips from the rack. Most of the time they could certainly provide a portion of the buy-in to play with while a runner gets the rest, but they act like the chips in the rack are coming out of their own pockets. Instead, the player bets with air and the dealer and other players have to remember what he owes.

In case anyone was curious about the structure/rules for the upcoming $1500 LHE Tourney at the Oaks, I took a screenshot (Mods, I apologize if inappropriate, please move/delete if so):

https://imgur.com/gallery/molzQ

EDIT: Oh, it's 30 minutes levels with re-entry allowed first four levels. I gave them what I believed to be a better structure (went to 40 min later, had more levels late, etc), but they edited to this.

When is tourney? I am making a trip to Bay area soon

How bad is this?

I wouldn't accept cash from players at the table in exchange for chips because they may be counterfeit.

I understand it slows the game and may result in the player feeling bad.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Just don't say that's the reason.

+1

Superstition should be your reason for everything. It is good for the game. "I always run bad after I buy chips".

Lol. No idea how that guy makes some of the hands he plays profitable, but he finds a way indeed.

Fun hand of the day:

UTG opens, coldcall, I 3b BTN (TT), BB calls, all call.

Flop 445hh
Check to me, I bet, all call.

Turn 7
BB bets, call, call, I raise, call, call, cold caller now back 3bets, I call (realizing I have 2 outs), BB call, now UTG back 4 bets, all call.

River T (Bink)
Check, bet, call, I raise, BB calls, UTG 3b, call, I 4bet, call, call, call.

BB has 55
Coldcaller has 77
UTG has 44

That's just cruel. Can't say I've ever seen a cap on the river multiway.

There's a limp from 44 and a raise from 77 and a three bet from TT and the blinds both cc (sb with 55)

not sure if its appropriate to post this here, but anyway
im from europe, considering spending 3 months on avg playing live in the US (june-july-dec). in terms of online poker i dont play lower than 50-100 principally (mainly because of a very little or no rb these days). this year im running around 150, last year i made 250 playing lhe.
atm im looking for organizing(or joining) a group of 3-5 regs sharing notes (in onenote/evernote), live hands, discussing strategy, gto approach etc. there is a bunch of european regs from online hs, but so far i know only one person with a similar attitude (he plays 1-2 2-4), other just prefer to spend time grinding and its boring for them to remember particular things/writing notes etc.
from what i have seen during this and last year wsops, most of usa live regs of 60-120+ are just pretty bad in many game aspects(imo). they play in a similar style like its online lhe in 2013. i cant say its pretty easy to play with them (online it would be, thanks to all that mining, heatmaps, 200 custom stats huds, hm filters and other ****), but it will require some time to adjust.
so if u play 60-120+ and are interested - pm me. ill be in LV on 5'Dec, in LA on 15.

lol kind of like what i predict will eventually happen slowly but surely ROW will find a way to keep playing where there gold mine which happen to live U.S for lhe. Eventually all the players that use solver/machine to get better and drive out all the regs that don't adapt. You see the same thing happen with nl/plo on stars moving over to asian app. I am moving back to east coast next year but live lifestyle doesn't sound fun. I prefer buying 4 iphone and grinding PLO against chinese degen.

Lol I beat you to it. I was pretty sure UTG raised and next guy coldcalled, but I could be wrong. I may have been able to just call the 3rd river bet if you're right.

FWIW I'd have turbo capped given the players in the hand, it looked like SB had a 4 dead.

Personally, I've been holed up in the lab adjusting my heatmaps and refining my river 3 bet bluff frequencies. I'd consider myself one of the better US regs at low stakes like 2/4 live (that's the lowest stakes spread I can find). But I could only dream of beating 60/120+ over a large sample. Shoot me a pm if you are looking for some help fine-tuning your live game though.
