I know this is weird, but I have a strange habit of watching the 200/400 LHE game on Stars for a few minutes while I work in the mornings so I can root for 8su**rpoker. How much money has he lost in this game I wonder? It must be in the 1.5-2 million range. Poor guy. I love it when he runs it up. It's a sickness. Am I the only person on the planet with this strange hobby?

Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time.

Pretty sure 2/4 LHE on stars only runs because of him these days. His highstakesdb graph is impressive.

Some time in 2010 I had my best day of my life during the best week of my life and saw him sitting 100/200 and the seat to his left was open. I ran pretty hot against the rest of the people on the table but he crushed me and I dropped 4k pretty quickly. If I recall his highstakes db had him down over 2 mil at that point.

Taking recommendations for a name for the new action game. It is badugi dealt like stud. People didn't like Studugi so we are currently just calling it "stud badugi"

"bad stud" or "badstud"

studugi is clearly the correct answer

Studugi is half badugi/half stud hi where I play and it is not a good game. Your game seems much better.

This. Inconceivable that someone could think otherwise. Assuming pronounced stud-doogie.

This sounds like a terrible limit game but could be exciting if played pot limit.

+1, no other good options.

This also sounds like a sucky game. Why do you think his game would be better?

We used to play a badugi hilo/stud hilo once upon a time. It was a terrible game, took almost as long to split the pot as to play the hand. Even in the land of 22 games we finally abandoned this one.

It's an ok game, it would be a great game pot limit and even better pot limit 6 card stud.

I've played a game called studugi in the past which was split between the high and the badugi, it was a pretty bad game. I'd played this badugi stud game in the past as well, we called it razzdugi but that was before razzdacey and razzdeucey so people see razzdugi and think razzdacey so my game needs a better name
10-24-2017 , 12:22 AM
I'd call it 7 card badugi. No confusion
10-24-2017 , 02:16 AM
Because it already has history and format of being dealt (1 down, 4 up from what I can tell from google lol), I like 5 card stud badugi, should be played as a pot-limit game imo. 6 card stud has no history or standard format. I like the idea of mixing 2 previous real games to create the Frankenstein games.

No idea what to call it, but if some random creature of the night (that wasn't me) wandered up to the table and asked what game this is, I would like to be able to tell him, "It's pot-limit 5 card stud/badugi. You know badugi right? (Nods) Yeah, it's that but its dealt like 5 card stud and you can bet the pot. Grab a seat and sweat me and I can talk you through some hands first." it's worked on me before lol

Razz-dugi is already a game where it's split between best low and best badugi hand. I think studugi doesn't really work because you're 1 card away from the nuts always so you really can never fold unless your opponent catches well in which case you should be folding almost 100%.

Seems pretty rare to see straight razzdugi now. I saw the "super" variation played a few times last summer in vegas. Not my favorite.
