Oh wow. Before Diamond Lils closed they had a promotion where a flopped diamond royal was $25k in addition to the substantial Monte Carlo. Flopped diamond straight flush was $2500, flopped diamond flush $250. Now that would have been a hell of a time. Though I suspect during that promo with that flop a guy wouldn't do what happened to you.

Do you know how pissed I would be if I flopped a heart royal?
09-17-2017 , 11:55 PM
Hopefully not at all and you'd collect the $1k+ from Monte Carlo and the pot.

And this is why you always hold on to your cards. Covering them with a chip does almost nothing.

Also pretty funny about that guy explaining his thought process on the 3b so he could check it down.

Since it's story time, I'll tell this one again from one of my first times playing at Bellagio. I raise, only the blinds (who are clearly friends) call. SB donks, BB raises and says, "you can't beat us." I fold, SB calls and they both flip over their cards and check it down. Not sure if it's relevant, but BB was working on a pair draw.

Trust me, I was holding them as well by the time his hand and cards got near mine, maybe even before. It's still tough to protect your cards if someone else is actively trying to mix his own cards with them.

I don't know about that. The guy sounds like an idiot.

DeathDonkey profile / limit tournament advice in back of new Card Player magazine! (At least I think that's him...)

Anyone have experience tipping poker hosts who can provide deals on rooms? Wondering if tipping more actually gets better rates.

Yeah their "When I was a Donk" concept articles are one of the things left worth reading in cardplayer. They typically choose a player that has been around for a while and ask him/her to describe how they used to think about poker when they were at the beginning of their career. I'm sad that it wasn't chosen as one of their free articles to read online, so you can only read part of the intro.

If you ever wanted to watch 6 straight hours of me playing probably over 50 vpip in a 7 handed game, straddling every opportunity and drinking heavily, you should have watched last night's 25/50 game on PNIA. Since I have no idea how it works, I don't know if it's available to watch still.

Spoiler:
But how much did you lose?

Thanks for the heads up. I'd like to check that out.

Is there any literature available on strip deck no limit holdem? I know the game is available on some foreign sites/apps. Calculating hand vs hand equity after the flop is easy aside from figuring out how to account for A789T being a wheel, but I'm looking for a bit more.

It was fun watching you crush that game. I have no idea how you folded that set. Could have titled the episode "high stakes mix game player crushes NL game while drinking". It seemed like you were going to escape the shots. Love how you said "you be you dude" while trying to stick with beer. Then? Rails of sobriety came off.

Maybe you could talk DesertCat into making a strip deck version of his app?

I think in general the strategy to strip poker is to go all-in as quickly as possible.

Here is some low content for you. I dredged up this piece of found poetry out of my files. I compiled it some eight years ago by grabbing words and phrases out of the November 2009 LC thread of the Mid-Stakes LHE forum and artfully arranging them.

People that play at Commerce Casino in California. I salute you.

I had some player points (just under 1,000) and just found out from their rewards center that they only redeem the points for theme parks and whatever stuff they have in the gift shop. All of that stuff pretty useless for me.

I've heard in the past that they have: turned them into cash at a markup, been able to purchase things from the internet.

Any idea when my points might become valuable again?

What would you do with the points in my situation? (I've heard they expire a year from the day they are "earned").

Thank you
