This is just an easy call. He is repping AK, JJ, or a slowplayed Tx. 3betting would be really bad imo.

A guy folded a similar spot to me on the weekend at 2/4, showed the trips card and mucked. I had a AK but I sometimes do have weaker than trips for value.

Yes, if anything I was considering a fold... however it’s such a scary card that I think even tight players could consider turning a hand into a bluff on this card. And maybe he raises worse for value sometimes?

It's extremely difficult for him to have a worse value hand or a bluff. For him to have a worse value hand, he needs to have slowplayed T9s or something weird like that. Most players just call QJ on the river. For him to have a bluff, he likely needs to have turned a pair into a bluff raise which very few people will do. Like maybe he peeled the turn with 88 and decided to rep the straight on the river. Checking a flush draw on the flop would be even weirder.

His range is very confusing. Most players bet AK or JJ on the flop. And most players don't slowplay here. When I am confused like this, I resort to a more GTO approach. I just know that I would be folding a ridiculous % of the time if I fold KT here, so I call without putting much thought into it.

Seems pretty standard as long as you just call the river
