Unmentionable (LC) Unmentionable (LC)

I know that rakeback used to be referred to on these forums as unmentionable. I was just curious if anyone knows why it was referred to in that way.

I think the only time that was used was for networks where RB wasn't permitted, like Party Poker for example.

I don't think you see this much anymore because there are threads where people are seeking offers, which could include a variety of other things like bonuses, point shops, cash back schemes, etc. This is the way we prefer things...really asking for "unmentionable" is the same as asking about rakeback.

Some poker rooms / networks do not allow rakeback - like Party Poker, Ipoker, etc. Thus the simply act of "advertising" rakeback for this rooms is forbidden. For some rooms there are still private persons offering private deals called "under the table" deals most of the time.

This deals might give you the chance to get something that is not allowed, but also leaves you with a higher risk of course.

Hope this explains it... donīt know how to say it otherwise.

edit: as always Bobo is first...
