How does FT Cashback affect the affiliate? How does FT Cashback affect the affiliate?

So if an affiliate is getting 20% of a players MGR and then that player is offered Cashback from FT, How does that work out?

say player MGR = $1000 for the month
player gets 27% for $270 leaving $730
and affiliate gets 20% of the $730 = $146 for affiliate?

is that how the MGR would work in this scenario?

I don't know for certain, but I'd assume that this never happens.

It may seem random to us, but I'm sure the players they choose for cashback are anything but random.

Apparently it can happen. A friend of mine is signed up under my affiliate and he claims that he received the cashback email today so I am wondering how that is going to work.

he did just go broke on a 20k downswing and magically got the email 2 days later though.

Wow, I find that VERY surprising. You may end up being the one to tell us how it works, then.

Oh, hang on - under your affiliate, not under you? Then how do you know his affiliate is getting 20% - I assume he's getting paid some of that?

I am the affiliate he is under and have been getting 20%. I'll keep you guys updated but it may be a bit as hes gonna have to find a way to get money back online first.

I did email Full Tilt affiliate department to ask them how they plan on handling this and am awaiting a response.

in my email I used the exact same example from OP and:

Hello xxxxx,

We are contacting you regarding your recent affiliate payments inquiry.

The example that you wrote in your email is correct. The amount a player earns in a Cash Back bonus will be deducted under the bonus column from the net revenue calculation for the Affiliates commission.

We hope this information clarifies the situation and if you have any further questions, please let us know.

Something to keep in mind is my friend had been emailing them for months and then went on a literally $20k MTT downswing going broke on the site and he was ready to quit and then they emailed a couple days after he went broke.

It could be a coincidence but they may have just been afraid to lose such a high volume player that they finally broke and offered it to him.

Or it could be that they are finally starting to give cashback to players connected to affiliates which would be nice for a lot of people looking for RB. Just passing the info along.

Well, we know they were doing that, because that's what all the cashback people are AFAIK - players who are tied to an affiliate. But this is the first time I've heard of someone getting it who was tied to an affiliate who is paid an MGR share; I had always assume it would be CPA players only. That's a lot of rake they're giving up for him, so your high volume suspicion makes sense.

But yeah, this could give hope to everyone.
