Cereus screws their customers again Cereus screws their customers again

What UB Changes their bonus terms and makes it retroactive? I'd be shocked if it hadn't happened several times before. Oh, and by the way there's that cheating thing too. A little research would have save you people a lot of headache, imo.

Changing bonus terms retroactively is standard at Cereus. Just one of many reasons you guys shouldn't be playing there.

Hmmm over 2k missing in bonus dollars. No help what so ever from support. All they said was "Thanks for your understanding" and "Our play-through requirements to earn bonus funds have been adjusted in accordance with industry standards" Such a FAIL UB. Funny that when I recieved the bonus dollars they said THEY NEVER EXPIRE, not THEY NEVER EXPIRE UNLESS WE FEEL LIKE EXPIRING THEM.

Same here.

The policy has been "never expire" in the past. I've had bonus dollars on there literally for years. When I was doing an inventory of sites the other day, all of a sudden more than $900 of pending bonus is suddenly gone.

After an email complaint, they sent back a link to the web page updated in April with the 90 expire policy.

These folks send me a newsletter every single month, and they couldn't put in "btw we're changing our bonus policy to expire in 90 days" on one of them the last three months?

total bollox. They keep changing the deal on clearing the bonus and now they just steal it. UB is a joke.

Ya you would think they would at least give some notice that the points were going to expire. Then again why do that if your just gonna take them, obv they didn't want people trying to clear them as fast as possible. Pretty shady.

Whats the big deal they have a reload offer every other week it seems. At least once a month. They just had 1 2 days ago. If you have bonus money out there you haven't cleared in 90 days then pull some money off reload it. and you will have more bonus money you won't be able to clear.

Still sucks about the never expire thing

The fact that it is dated april is irrelevant. I only just joined there and i have 3-4 emails from may/june that state that the bonuses never expire. This was a very recent change. The reason i emailed them several times about it was to ensure that i could save up reload bonuses and have unlimited time to clear them. So i now have about $2300 worth of bonuses that will soon be useless. I also got the same generic email and so i sent another one telling them to stop ****ing around with me and that they better do something about this if they intend to keep me as a customer. Applying this policy to forthcoming bonuses is perfectly acceptable (and completely understandable). Applying this policy retroactively is paramount to fraud in my view. I view opting in to the bonuses as a contract, and UB's part of the contract was that bonuses do not expire. UB is an absolute joke.

What is even worse about this whole situation is that, not only did they apply it retroactively, but they didn't even start the 90 day countdown from the annoucement of the policy. One day bonuses are unlimited - the next every bonus that has been >90 days is void. Nice going you ****ing idiots.

UB screwing their players?

NO WAY!

oh brother. i thought there would be some genuine complaints in this thread.
07-04-2009 , 09:09 PM
wow... UB and cereus are just a joke, why would anyone still play there???
07-04-2009 , 09:24 PM
So a site known for stealing money from players in the past, again steals money from players.

You are surprised....why?

Right. Giving players a bonus without an expiry date only to take it away later isn't a genuine complaint at all, is it?
07-05-2009 , 04:13 PM
given the fact that they offer about $3k+ in deposit bonuses each and every month, no...its not. but you dont play there, so theres no way you'd know that.

[ ] money being stolen

I already explained this to you in the UB regs thread you idiot. This is blatant theft from the poker community. THEY ARE TAKING MONEY OUT OF THE POKER ECONOMY!!!!!!!!

I had 2k in bonuses, I now have $300 (after bitching). I will now have to reload $1700 in bonus that I already had by depositing at least $1700. These deposits will cost me a **** ton of money in processing fees.

/dragonystic saying "who cares, they have 3k in reloads every month"

What does this even mean "they offer about $3k+ in deposit bonuses"???

And what difference does it make if it's $10, $3k, or $350,000? The expiry date is currently 90 days, but what if they decide tomorrow they don't want to honor bonuses at all? They need merely cancel all existing bonuses (as they did with all existing bonus which were never supposed to expire) and say, 'we changed our policy'.

Of course it's a genuine complaint. I'd agree that whether they are "stealing money" is debatable, but it's clearly shady to put an expiry date on a bonus they gave someone without an expiry date. They're changing the terms of the bonus retroactively, and they've done it many times before. How much bonus money they offer every month is irrelevant to this fact. And as others have said, it is an inconvenience and/or cost to players when they are now forced to deposit again to replenish their bonus.

I can understand that Cereus regs probably get pretty tired of seeing the site bashed at every turn, and there are probably a number of times when it is done undeservedly, but this seems a silly battle to be picking. Cereus is very clearly in the wrong here.

are you unfamiliar with the english language?

anyone who wants to play constantly with bonus dollars in their account will have no trouble doing so. that was my only point.

but ill relent. its an awful travesty that is taking place at AP, and i am personally outraged. ROAR!

more than you can imagine. especially on petty **** like this that wont effect anyone in any way really. will anybody have trouble getting enough bonus dollars so that they can constantly play with a bonus? no.

worst case scenario here is that you will lose a few dollars in rakeback for the deposit fees cutting down your MGR in order to get another $650 bonus. (which there is one going on now.) whats that gonna cost the few complainers who are flipping out? $25 in lost rake? gimme a ****ing break.

it's bad business...plain and simple

I am certainly not. More saliently, do you know how to make a point? Because saying that Absolute offers '$3k in deposit bonuses each and every month' tells us nothing useful. What does that mean? Do you mean they offer a 100% bonus up to $3,000 each month? Or that they offer deposit bonuses until they've credited $3,000? I mean, I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

wow, im amazed my point is so unclear. i think youre being purposely obstinate, but ill try to explain better.

through depositing on AP, a player could get $3k in bonus dollars every month.

FOR EXAMPLE: there is a 100% bonus of up to $650 going on right now. which means if you deposit $650, you get $650 bonus dollars to work off.

and these kinds of bonuses are pretty much running constantly.

is my point now clear? taking away bonus dollars from a year ago shouldn't really effect anyone in any meaningful way.

as an aside, do you even play on AP, or are you just trolling these threads for fun?
