Sup,

So I did some backup update from dell (yes, it was definitely from dell) and after it was done it said the computer needs to restart.

Well when I come back I put in my password and off we go to the desktop.

Except when I get to the desktop the theme is some old ass basic theme and it a box pops up tilted 'Location is not Available'

C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.

It simply gives me the option to click 'Okay'

I have noooo idea where to start. I turned my computer off and back on and the same things pops up.

Anyone have any idea wtf is going on???

Thanks in advance for your help help :/

Update:

I shut my computer down again so I could go to the setup options at startup. Well I couldn't hit F2 in time I guess, but this time when I logged back on everything was back to normal.

Still, if anyone has any information that would help me understand this issue I would love to hear it.

Not sure, but it sounds like you booted your system into safe mode originally, which prevented a certain autostart program from running (which gave you the error), but upon reboot you started into the regular windows which ran fine?

Not sure, tbh. The same thing happened today after I shut down to install another update. I rebooted and everything was fine, then decided to do a system restore to a couple weeks ago before all this crap happened.

Doing a scan now to check for any issues. Will update if I have anything to add.

Thanks.
