I have never had Windows crash that was not the result of a hardware problem.

Is this a brag or a claim that software doesn't cause crashes?

A brag - and an indication that Windows is stable. Its 3rd party software that gives people the impression Windows is unstable.

People complain about Windows and memory leaks and blah blah blah. I have a a few Windows 2003 servers at my work that have been up for 600 days and are working just fine and don't need a reboot (yes, that also means patches are way behind

Yeah, I run my windows without any AV or firewall or any patches either. I'm totally safe this way.

If you've had those applications cause your operating system to crash, well, sucks to be you.

..and to answer your question: Sure. None of those are part of the installed operating system. They may have been written by Microsoft, but they are not Windows.

Can users finally uninstall IE? That's good to hear. The last time I had a Windows box, it was not possible to uninstall IE; it was part of the installed operating system. I'm glad to hear that has changed.

Internet Explorer has never been part of the operating system and has been possible to be uninstalled for a long time.

I haven't had a Windows box for quite a while. It's nice to hear that IE can be completely uninstalled and removed from the hard drive. When I wanted to do that very thing with IE 5 (maybe 4?) to replace it with FF pre-1 beta, it was not possible to remove IE. It was indeed part of the OS. (To me, if an application cannot be removed, it is effectively part of the OS.)

Well after looking it up apparently there was a weird bug where you couldn't if you had installed a new version and then uninstalled it or something.

My laptop goes through spells where it crashes a lot. It usually comes back and tells me it was a problem with the built-in webcam driver, but when I try to update it there are none available. I get to the point where I am ready to just uninstall the camera software but then it stops crashing. Pretty annoying IMO, but not Windows fault.
