Should I not be able to run PokerStars client smoothly?

Hello all
I have this laptop:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz
8,00 GB Ram
Integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics 620

Games are choppy/laggy and I have to run the low req theme to be able to play without too many problems.

Aurora is, of course, not an option.

What specs does it take to run the client without lags? Or is there something I could do to improve perfomance on my machine?

it lags for me too and I'm on a 16 core cpu and dedicated graphics, granted I run a rather complex hud and starscaption alongisde and mby one of those 2 is the culprit
try to disable all the animations in settings (in case your igpu doesn't quite cut it to run Aurora)
but it could just be their servers

I've never been able to run it smoothly since Aurora. Even when I disable it and all animations. Hearing about your machine I wonder what specs are needed. Seems strange.

used to run better, lately it's been choppy
it's not the pc for sure, super clean W10 install, plenty of cpu/gpu/ram and only use it for poker
funny enough, if I turn all the animations on , it's smoother, but can't stand them
so it has to be their servers or mby re-installing the client fixes things, too lazy to have to re-do all the settings tho

aurora is reported to be a dumpster fire, but outside of that the nebulous concept of "smoothness" usually comes from all the hudbot software that people masstabling feel the need to use, not the client itself

I get performance issues with stars even with all graphics options off and no tracking software running.

Same for me. No HUD, no other software running. Major performance issues

What's your AV? Did you add all the Stars and tracker processes to the exceptions? Can you give us some events and performance monitor info?

Your AV should have an FAQ on how to add items to the exceptions.

Also, try updating your graphics card driver

1 - Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates').
2 - Update your graphics drivers
3 - Enable desktop composition

And if you use Logitech mouse/keyboard, update their software. I haven't seen this be an issue in a while, but about 12 years ago, this caused a lot of lag and misclicks for me playing on Stars, so I'd recommend doing it to remove any obstacles.

How many tables can you play? Did you experience crashes before and now you don't?

nah I just 4 table zoom or 2 zoom + 4 reg when pool starts to die
was not getting any crashes before, just some sluggishness in the way I was moved to another table or how cards were dealt, bets placed etc
only crashes I can remember were proper stars server crashes that were reported by a lot of ppl
right now it feels smooth enough for me

Ok, I haven't gotten the upgrade yet, hopefully my experience gets better like yours, because i am sick and tired getting 4-5 crashes a day.
