Yes ... but it is more about the speed that the battery drains at.

When playing games and not connected to a power supply, the battery drains really fast as you are putting a very high load on the system - and if you keep draining the battery very fast over an extended period of time it will damage the battery.

The wear you have on your battery is expected based on age of the device. Rarely using a battery can cause damage as well, as batteries are designed to be drained then charged - so leaving it idle for an extended period of time can / will cause wear.

Im going to purchase the sager. Im going to get the 250gb ssd drive. But am i suppose to get it as the primary drive or the the other drive? Im confused b/c if i get it as the other drive, i will get the default hard drive as well so 2 hard drives?

Someone in another forum suggested me upgrade the wireless card. Is that necessary? Its 35 dollar to upgrade to it but theres also a 50 dollar upgrade to another wireless card. Or should the one that is default should be good enough? A person suggested to upgrade it.

Also, im a bit confused but this laptop is going to come with windows right? Im confused b/c if u dont pay extra, it say windows 7 or 8.1 so i get to pick? What im also confused is they charging for windows 7 64 home premium as well. My current asus laptop is windows 7 64 home premium and it never cost me money to buy the windows 7 as it was already included.

I have a dell xps 8100 desktop that i bought back in 2010. Its an i5 quad core desktop. I haven't used it for some time and took it out few days ago to use it again. It didn't have any issues at first. However recently i was using it and connect it always to my 2007 dell fp monitor.

There was a driver error message in the bottom but then said its been recovered. I seen this quite a bit happen with my laptop and desktop. Next thing you know, my chrome web pages, lot of the words/letters/pictures are distorted. Im sure you guys know what i mean by this? I had this issue happen many times but each time i either would restart computer or maybe close all the chrome windows then open okay and no issue.

Closing chrome and reopening didn't work. Same distortions. I then restarted the desktop by start and restart when i did this, i don't see anything showing up on my monitor. I then decide to reset again by holding power button and resetting... i know this is not good idea as oppose to click start and reset but i can't do that due to nothing showing on the screen. Same issue, computer restarts but nothing on monitor. I then wondered could it been my monitor that was the issue... it isn't b/c i connected laptop to it and connected a vga cable to it and monitor works.

How do i fix this issue with my desktop since nothing shows up on my monitor when i click the power button. The power button works and it starts up, but nothing shows on the screen. I'm pretty sure this had to do with the problem earlier with the driver and the distorted letter/picture etc.

How do i fix this if theres nothing show up?

I have a logitech 505m wireless mouse. First off, im not sure but i believe theres 2 type of mouses. One is optical mouse and one is laser mouse... is that correct? Can someone tell me which type of mouse i have? I can say that i cannot use this mouse on a wooden surface or regular service and i pretty much need a mousepad or something similar for it to work.

I was going to buy another mousepad as the one i bought a while ago which was a belkin one that cost probably 3 dollars i threw away because it pretty much deteoriated. I was going to purchase another mousepad and saw this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/141243252678...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

First off, would this mousepad work for my mouse?

I then took a look for mousepad and apparently theres mousepads where it makes comfortable for your wrist such as these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121415834470...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201066848129...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wrist-comfor...item257da8ee69
Does my type of wireless mouse work in all these mouse pads?

Also these mousepad with the wristpad makes it look very comfortable. I move my hands quite a bit when using a mouse. Would you suggest me getting one of these as oppose to a regular mouse pad?

Is there anyone here that doesn't use a mouse pad at all? The thing is i could use a wired mouse which works on any surface without an issue. But i like my logitech 505m wireless mouse a lot so thats why i need a mousepad as almost every surface i use it on, it doesn't work.

I like to add that back then i rarely used a mousepad for quite some time. Thing is the desk that i used, my current mouse 505m worked on the surface without an issue. Also i don't like mousepads as i find it kind of getting in the way of things. However, all the surfaces on the desk i use now, note the desk that i used back then i no longer have anymore... it doesn't work on any of these surfaces. Well it can but mouse moves very slowly where its basically impossible. I have no issue with the wired mouse on the same current surfaces but as you know, most people don't like wired mouse.

Another thing however was i read was that these mouse wrist pads are actually bad for you? I had thought these had to be good but i just read a few articles and they said to avoid it because it can cause more problems. Is this true/false?

Okay so im told sager doesn't provide windows and one needs to buy it. I have never heard of such a thing as every computer i bought that was dell or asus provided windows.

So should i get windows 7 home premium just like now or should i go and get windows 8.1? Why does windows 7 home premium 64 bit which i use now cost more than windows 8.1?

It cost $95 on xoticpc. I check ebay and i could get the same windows 7 home premium 64 bit for 66 dollars. Should i let xotic pc do it or just buy it off ebay and do it myself since this is probably easy?

I also assume i cannot use an old windows 7 64 bit home premium cd? Thus i received an asus one when i bought my i3 370m. I assume i can't use that on the sager right? Im still using the asus laptop so i figure you can use it only one machine at a time? But if i dont use my asus, would it work on the sager? Even if that work, isn't that bad idea because the reinstallation cd is meant for asus laptops and not any other brand of laptops?

Also is there any issues with holdem manager 2 or tableninja 1 on Windows 8.1 or windows 7 ultimate or professional or any other version that isn't windows 7 64 bit home premium? I haven't had issues with windows 7 64 bit premium so i want to know if there would be any issues if i choose windows 8.1 or windows 7 ultimate or some other windows.

Does the monitor go on? I mean, does it display a black screen? If so your pc finds a connection to the monitor. If not, so if the monitor stays 'idle' try manually selecting/searching for the 'source'.

You could also try to connect the monitor via another source --> If it has a VGA and a DVI port, try connecting to the other.

are you planning on getting the NP 2740? it comes with a sata 3 slot (primary) and a msata slot. For the SSD you want to upgrade the Sata 3 (primary) one. the msata SSDs cost more, are smaller, and slower. Get the SSD on the Sata 3 primary slot.

i would upgrade the wireless network adapter to the dual band AC for 35$. it will get the most out of the internet wherever you are and will be at the forefront of wireless network adapters for years to come. you dont need the $50 bigfoot one.

personally i would go with win 7 64 bit home edition. i have less problems with it than win 8.1 and you most likely wont use the features on professional or ulitmate.

http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-7...n-the-editions

i would buy the cheaper win 7 off ebay and install it myself. its easy and it wont come with bloatware. that laptop doesnt come with a dvd drive so you will need an external dvd drive you can hook up via the USB or you can just download win 7 home 64 bit ISO file and boot it up from a flash drive.

Yes i will be getting the np2740. Yes i spoke to xoticpc support and they recommended me to just upgrade the 5400rpm to the 250gb ssd samsung drive as the primary one. What still confuses me if i get the samsung ssd on the other drive, they said that would mean they send me the laptop with 2 hard drives inside the laptop? I had thought you could only put one hard drive inside at once. I heard of 2 hard drive but thought the 2nd one woudl be connected eternally like with a usb cable or am i wrong here?

So the wifi card that is the default one isn't that good then right? My asus laptop i never updated the wifi card but the wifi on this one is very good. Atheros AR9285 is the name of my current wifi card but i never had any issues with it. So you are saying if i don't upgrade the wifi card, then as time goes on, the wifi might not be as strong etc as im not sure what you mean it will be the forefront of wireless network adapters for years to come.

Yea i like the windows 7 64 home premium one as i been using this for quite a bit. Yea i dont really care about other features as this one works fine for me

Wait. So if i have them install the windows 7 64 bit for me, it will come with sager bloatware? What type of bloatware would it contact? My previous computers have been dell and asus and i feel like dell always had the worst bloatware. Also im not good at removing bloatware. But if i buy my own on ebay, theres no bloatware at all? I checked ebay and lot of sellers say they recommend you to use it on a used or refurnished laptop but did say as long as computer works for windows 7 64 bit home premium, its fine. But is there a reason they mentioned this? Do they not recommend if laptop is brand new? I'm confused to this.

I didn't know the sager 2740 won't have a dvd drive but i do know many laptops dont have that. I don't have an external dvid drive. So could i still do this or not? I do have a usb cable but its only 4gb. I assume that won't work then? Im not familiar at all with downloading the iso file and how that works. So would this be very complicated for me due to not having an external dvd drive? They did tell me if i order the windows 7 from them, they also give me the disc as the extra copy but without an external dvd drive, would this be an issue? I never thoought about if there was going to be dvd drive b/c i always assumed there was.

looking at xotic options they wont let you not have a primary sata 3 hard drive. so if you choose to upgrade the msata slot it will come with 2 hard drives. many laptops (especially gaming laptops) come with multiple internal hard drive slots.

for wireless network adapter, the AC is newer and faster than the older N, B or G.

http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinio...the-difference

All laptop retailers include bloatware from their sponsors. If you buy that laptop without an Operating system (win 7), it will just come empty. Then you can install the win7 without all the bloatware. If you buy the laptop with and operating system installed (win 7 or 8) then they will include the bloatware.

you dont need a dvd player. Just buy the cheaper win 7 cd and just use the windows key that comes with it. You can download the win 7 ISO file here and put in on your flash drive. Should have a minimum of 4 gb flash drive.

http://www.w7forums.com/threads/offi...wnloads.12325/

You can then get Sager drivers here.

http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.p...ver_download2#

If this is too much work for you, you should just buy the laptop with win7 installed already. then use decrapifier to get rid of all the bloatware

Hey thanks for that information. Yea i will get the new wifi card then.

Where do i download the window 7 ISO file? Its online? I assume if you do that, they will require the code from the windows 7 bought from ebay right? Thus its like a alternative method for ppl without a dvd drive?

One other thing. Couldn't i use pcdecrapifier right now and remove any bloatware i have in my current asus laptop?

i linked the win7 iso file last message. its the w7 forums website. jsut look for win 7 home 64 bit in english and download it into your flash drive.

yea you can you decrapifer right now.

okay but for someone to download the iso file, they would need you to confirm the code from the windows 7 cd right?

I downloaded decrapifer right now on laptop. Im not sure but it installed a lot of unnecessary programs and i then uninstaleld them all but can't remove file opener packages now...

Is that program really good? I took a look at the reviews and theres are lot of negative reviews about it.

Also i got another question. So if i were to format my asus laptop, i would be able to use that windows 7 iso file on it? That way, my asus laptop when formatted again won't have any bloatware as oppose to me installing it using the windows 7 cd from asus?
Questions, questions Quote
10-13-2014 , 06:33 PM
you can download the ISO file now. the windows key is for when you install it. it will ask you to put in the windows key then.

decrapifier worked well for me. it shouldnt be installing any other programs. your computer might have a virus.

for your old laptop you have to download the right ISO file. win 7 / 32 or 64 bit/ home pro or ultimate. You also need to have the right Asus drivers before you reformat. Find the right drivers on the asus website and put it on a flash drive.

my computer is very slow and im sure it has tons of malware. Not sure about virus but could be. I did however use microsoft essentials and every so often it would show a trojan but then it would remove it.

Do you know if that iso file is more than 4gb? I only have 1 usb flash drive and its only 4gb because i got it many years ago and never got another one because i rarely had to put anything in it so i never bothered getting a bigger usb.
Questions, questions Quote
10-13-2014 , 07:58 PM
the win 7 home 64 iso file is 3.1 gb so you should be fine. But the sager drivers might be over 1 gb

what you can do is just download the wireless network driver into your usb. After you install windows, you can install the wireless network driver first so your internet works. then you can go to sagers website and download the rest of the drivers.

but with a 16gb usb 3.0 flash drives for $15 its well worth the upgrade. its totally worth the speed upgrade.

Hey im confused about what you said earlier. But if i have xoticpc install windows 7 home 64 bit for me, how would there be bloatware in the first place since sager from what i read doesn't have bloatware compared to dell or asus or am i wrong here?
Questions, questions Quote
10-13-2014 , 11:35 PM
never ordered from xotic so not 100% sure but most laptop retailers will get paid to install bloatware. and its not just from the manufacturer. it can come from antivirus companies, game companies, and other trial programs.

i had a sager laptop a couple years back and cant remember if it had tons of bloatware. but i bought it directly off their site. im pretty sure xotic will add bloatware but you can just remove it one by one.

Hey thanks. So just want to make sure one last thing

Either one of these are fine? 2nd link seems to be either 32 or 64 bit whereas the first one is 64 bit. I would only want the 64 bit.

Hey i posted this on the sevenforums and one of the mods there posted this

If you're set on Windows 7 then don't buy it off eBay as this is a notorious vendor of counterfeit copies. The best prices we see regularly here from a reliable major retailer so you know it's safe, are from Tiger Direct and New Egg.

Doing a google search just now I find an even lower price from a vendor who I have not heard of but has BBB endorsement which you can verify:

http://www.discountmountainsoftware....FYZaMgodbFMAjg

You'd burn downloaded ISO to disk or stick using Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool then do a Clean Install Windows 7. You can also use the latest official ISO http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.iso to install now and just use key from the vendor.

If you have the builder do it then you can Clean Up Factory Bloatware to regain most performance. You also can use the Product Key which must be provided to you by law to do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Is it true there are lot of counterfeit copies on ebay? I knew these things could be like that but i check the feedback and pretty much everyone gave positive reviews. The site this person linked me, i did check reviews and its really good. The only difference is this one is just an email code as oppose to a physical cd. But that should be fine as well right? I think im just going to buy it online as reviews online seem to be very good and you don't need them to physically ship it to you.
