I just got an external hdd to use for backup and am using Time MAchine finally.

Just curious but is it also backing up my bootcamp (XP) partition?

No. From the perspective of OS X, your bootcamp partition is a completely different hard drive, unrelated to OS X.

Winclone is a free Mac app that can make a backup image of your bootcamp partition. It's not an ideal backup solution, since you can't restore individual files, but it's better than nothing.
