Display port cables - do I need to purchase them for this monitor as well?

yep, need to get 2 of these cables https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...9163016&sr=8-4

I strongly recommend a mesh chair with adjustable lumbar support and arms that raise/lower and tilt left/right.

I have one that looks very similar to this for over a year now and am super happy with it.

Compared to the "executive" style of chair, these are miles more comfortable imo and I'm not the type of guy to sit upright, pretty much always slouch and one leg either up on the desk, or on the cushion or underneath my ass. It might not look comfy, but it just is.

The one in the pic doesn't appear to have arms that move but a recliner thing instead, I find adjustable arms amazing.

Idk what brand to recommend, mine is some chinese thing I got for ~150$ from the local hardware store. Apparently the design in the picture is quite common and you should be able to find one.

Google ergonomic mesh chair and I'm sure several of these will pop.

That sounds great! I will definitely be getting the chair and the table now as well.

So far due to your help we've gotten:

hp computer ($413) including tax & shipping
gaming keyboard + mouse which I had fun choosing ($44)
(2) 24" IPS Monitors ($255)
(2) DisplayPort Cables ($20)
** Video Card ($17) ** which will be used if I get a 3rd monitor so I will not count that as part of the budget total

Total Cost: $732
We did it!!!

The desk/chair wasn't part of the $800 budget so this goes to show it was very possible and I can't wait to have everything set up! You are the #1 twoplustwo member in the Universe!

Now back to business (haha)
I plan on not exceeding $300 for the desk & chair. Hopefully I can get that done!

got a massive, practical desk from Ikea for pretty cheaps
not really a desk per se, more like 2 file cabinets on the sides and a big ass table top on top, with a support leg to keep it stable in the middle

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/planner/byod-planner/

my current set up, complete with cat. built myself a small mancave in the living room with sliding doors

Hahaha, complete with cat.

Now that right there, is what I'm talking about! I'm upgrading from laying down in my bed on a laptop playing 8+ tables, to having an actual desk and a chair lol. I still don't believe this is happening. I can't wait to send you the pictures when mine is done.

you do that

people vouch for stand up desks, didn't pull the trigger on one cause they're expensive and because I also needed storage space for all my crap and short on space, but they sound great, mby sometimes in the future when I make the move to a house.

that's reasonable
looks like it's going to last too, 1 year in and no squeaks for mine
previous office and gaming chairs I owned showed signs of **** build quality 3 or 4 months in
and no more sweaty ass/back and cushion starting to cave in

that desk looks nice and clean

Thank you kind sir. I have a gaming chair I use to play xbox with but I'm leaving that downstairs. Figure I try another chair for poker. Everything is set to arrive by the middle of next week.

Hey,

The monitors will be arriving Tuesday but everything else is here and set up. Do I have to install anything on the computer?

Thanks!
