It looks like Nox has a requirement for GPU openGL support so the rx570 should be fine to leave alone to be safe. 2x1080p monitors for 2d usage can basically run on a potato at this point, so just be sure the card has the outputs you want to use with your monitors (DP/HDMI).

Haha yea. Nothing fancy with the monitors. Thanks for your help!

can save a bit on case and psu but it won't be that significant in the grand scheme
I just put together a 2700x system and spent 70$ total on a quality 600w psu and a cheap but functional case
just noticed that case is listed for 180$, hope you're not paying that much for a case
you'l prob want a tower cooler or an AIO, stock is fine for my 2700x but the 3900x gets really hot. it will likely do the job for stock voltage but if you want to squeeze out 10-15% more power, you'l need aftermarket cooling. stock is also pretty loud.

also make sure you don't pay 100$ for a W10 key, either get an OEM/volume one for <15$ from one of the many sites that sell them, don't activate (you still get updates and full functionality) or use a script to activate if that's your cup of tea.

2700x
Asus X470 Prime
Corsair 2666Mhz 4x16gb kit
GT 710
512gb Adata SX8200 pro
Case and psu are Riotoro, Spanish manufacturer, you might not be able to find them in US but if you do, they know what they're doing and are excellent value, they just make cases, psus and cooling

For workstations do you mean something like in the link above?

ye and that's a very good price
the 2 xeons in that are about ~10-15% faster than a mildly oc 2700x for multi threaded workloads, like solvers

just to give you an idea, cinebench r15 scores are

2700x ~1800p
2x E5-2690 ~ 2100p
3900x ~ 3100p

mind you, with workstastions you're looking at poor re-sale value 2 or 3 years down the road , 2 cpus use more power so bit higher bills and these tend to be noisy and generate quite some heat

best bang for your buck right now, not necessarily in the longer run
another advantage is you don't have to build it and xeons are made to run 24/7 for years
not for gaming tho

I think you should go with the 3900x build if you got the money
better performance/$ once you add everything up

It does seem that way. I made some revisions to the 3900x build.

It looks like I only need a 500watt PSU (according to https://pc-builds.com/psu/), but I put 550watt in case.

And, it seems like the case went down to $60 from $180 for some reason:

Hi , any thoughts on this laptop paired with a 27 inch monitor. Will be used to run Holdem manager and play 6 tables of zoom. Budget a little low as only grinding NL50. Or any other low budget laptops that will be ok to pair to a monitor thanks .

should be good enough
I have a T640s (i5 6th gen) and 4 tabling zoom on stars with HM works just fine
I've not seen 4th gen U series in action, but don't think there's much difference performance wise compared to 6th gen
I see the T440 has mini DP so you'l also need a cable to either DP or HDMI

Hey guys, I have the exact same need as the thread opener. Looking to build and buy a PC for grinding and running sims. First of all, thanks for all the advice thus far, learned a lot when I read the thread.

Since a year has passed, should I still go for e.g. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor or has there a new better value for money processor out there? If I posted my build, would someone be kind enough to give advice on where to upgrade/downgrade?
