Which is better for poker - a 22" widescreen (1680 X 1050) or 24" (1920 X 1200)?

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated.

lol?

24" obv. Do you honestly think someone is going to say the monitor with less screen space is somehow better for poker?

More resolution is usually better but you need to try and see both of them together to see what they look like.

*shrug* - I have no idea whether the wide screen may suit the table configuration better... I dunno. Thought perhaps someone had used both & had a definitive answer in their experience. Or whether there was that much of a difference between the two.

As you say... probably a stupid question.

A 24" running 1920x1200 is wide screen also.

I have used both (though never a 22" widescreen for poker but I've used 1680x1050 and I know what it's like) and I have a definitive answer. 1920x1200 is clearly superior.

In addition to the points already mentioned, 22" displays in general use cheap TN-type panels, which have crappy viewing angles. 24" displays are much more likely to use VA-type panels which are basically better all around. The TN panels have a slight edge in response time, but the difference should be negligible to poker players.
