Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

that's not your average monitor

it's basically an OLED panel, which can achieve superior contrast to IPS , PLS, VA that you normally find in good monitors and way better than TN, used for budget displays.

OLEDs or in this case QLED are also able to be locally backlit very brightly. imagine you're playing a scenic game and you pan up to look at the sun. that small area can get super bright and blind the **** out of you, just like the sun would in real life

TNs are normally used for gaming because they can achieve higher refresh rates, very important in fast paced games like shooters, but you sacrifice greatly on image quality. this is because the superior panel technologies have difficulties refreshing faster.

so what Samsung did here is incorporate top notch image quality with fast refreshing and very low latency in a big ass 49" curved form factor. it's pretty cool what they managed to do and you're paying a premium for the complete package, this might be one of the only options atm for people who want it all. This is specifically to be used with pc games that fully support this ultra wide resolution and HDR. If you're just using one for poker tho, bit of a waste and def overpaying.

I actually have this cable that I bought years ago. I am using it for one of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors. Its a usb c to hdmi cable 4k @ 60hz.

My other 24' 1920 x 1200 monitor, use hdmi to hdmi.

Would this cable I currently have work with a 4k tv/monitor?

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

Your opinion on these 2 tv's that are 43' and 4k?

https://www.amazon.com.mx/Samsung-Cl...0481107&sr=8-5

Roughly $400

https://www.amazon.com.mx/TCL-43S425...0481107&sr=8-6

Roughly $300

I seen these tv's in person... well the 1st one only... and it looks huge and it literally looks like you could put 15 tables full size easily. I was looking at it and its like 33 inches horizontally. When I measure my current full size tables on my 24' 1920x1200 monitors... its like 6 inches horizontally. So you could put 5 tables across full size... I didn't check vertically exactly but you would easily have 3 tables vertically easily at full size. So you could have at least 15 tables ... or even 20 tables with 5 across and 4 down with the 43' 4k monitor?

Again what confuses me a lot is why doesn't there seem to be many players with setups where they get just one big 43' monitor? Someone said they could easily put 12 tables... another person ionut says he can put 20 tables. Why do ppl then have multiple monitors then when you could only put 6 tables or maybe 9 in each when tables are lot smaller when one big monitor if you could put 15... then you don't need to look left/right etc?

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

yep can get 20 minimized pokerstars tables tiled on the 43" 4k and you can see everything on UI well enough (not sure about small hud stats, prob can't fit a lot of those if going for max tables)

go through the amazon comments or look up some reviews and see if anyone mentions using them with a pc, like I said, the tv has to support 4:4:4 chrome subsampling, otherwise small text will be fuzzy. When you get the tv and plug it in your pc, disable all the image enhancing features in the tv's menu to get a nice relaxed picture that doesn't heart your eyes when viewing from close up.

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

Hey. Wait, if you 20 table on a 43' 4k tiled... all the stars tables would look minimized to the absolute max? I don't think this is true because that is a huge tv though.

I mean from looking at it, it seems like you can easily put 15 tables there... 5 across and 3 vertically from looking at the actual monitor while it being close to the default size. Again... 15 tables full size or close to it... is pretty darn good compared to 2 monitors of 24' and 4 tables each so 8 total. Again, I don't know how some of you are comfortable with a 24' and even 8 or 9 or 12 tabling tileing on it. When i 6 table tile it on it... i find it a bit too small.

From looking at either of those 2 monitors above, would you suggest just get the samsung one? The TCL 43' tv seem to have many great reviews with tons of ppl saying it works great as a monitor. Seems to be like one of the most underrated 43' 4k tvs out there when reading the reviews.

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

https://ibb.co/88v0YK1

these are minimized stars tables on a 40". as you can see, I could get 5 x 4 = 20 tables tiled, cept stars has a hard cap on 16 so that's all I could cram in when I took the picture. on a 43" 4k or any larger for that matter, you won't be able to fit any more tables, as it's the same resolution, it's just that everything will appear a bit larger cause there's more physical screen in front of you.

wouldn't be surprised if TCL turns out to be really good, mine was literally the cheapest unknown brand at ~190 USD and turned out better than expected for the price

if you don't like it or can't get it to work properly, can always send it back

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

Hey... well when you say minimized... did you mean minimized at the absolute smallest? I assume you don't mean that right? Well the 43' 4k monitor that I was looking at, it looks like i could put 15 full size tables on it.

The TCL seems to have really great reviews. The thing again I don't get is why don't ppl just get 1 big 43' 4k tv as a monitor since its so much cheaper than multiple monitors? I mean, if you are using it for having more chrome windows to view, obviously makes sense to have 2-3 monitors. But if you solely playing... I feel like 1 big monitor where you can see all the action is pretty good... especially if that one monitor... you can fit more than 2 tables in your 2 monitors combined. I mean... with a 27'28 4k monitor... I assume 6 full size tables or at most 9 tables you can get right where the size isn't that bad? Again, i know 24' 1920x1200 monitor... 6 tabling tiled is just too small well at least for me. I really find it interesting ppl could 9 table on even a 24' 1080p monitor where there is overlap etc. For me, I want to see big tables and see all the action... I don't mind a few tables behind a few tables etc.

Well returning it is a huge pain with a tv. But again, I don't know why I never thought of a 4k tv as a monitor since you could put so many tables compared to a monitor. I mean the 43' 4k samsung tv i saw... you could easily put 12 full size tables using it... and that is more tables than my 2 24' 1920x1200 monitors which does 4 each so 8 total.

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

Pauly, I've explained to you previously the difference between pixels and actual size in front of your eyes. 15 tables tiled on a monitor that is 1 mile high and 2 miles wide are not going to be the same size in front of your eyes as 15 tables tiled on a 23" screen.

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

Hey. Well I just thought of that... when you are sitting down... the 43' 4k tv is going to be very high etc so its like you will be looking up quite a bit.

So is that why ppl prefer to use 2-3 monitors then with the 27-28' and 32' as oppose to 1 big 40'+ monitor then?

Re: Multiple Monitors Setup and Resolution

it's not that high
I have my office chair lowered all the way down and a 70cm tall desk and the top of the 40" is just a few cms above my head. was even debating mounting it on the wall, so it's a bit higher and I can lean back a bit. the width is more of a concern than height is if you have a narrow desk and are forced to put it too close to your eyes. my desk is 60cm deep, I have the tv pushed all the way back against the wall and I don't have to turn my head left and right from that distance.

just get the damn thing, you'l be fine.

Pauly i already told you those resolutions are terrible for this day and age i upgraded to 2560x1440 monitors in 2010. Dunno how it is where you live but here in the UK if you buy something online you have a 14 day window to return it for any reason. Just buy something from this decade and you will see the difference instead of amusing us with these posts of yours.
