I bought a new desktop computer for around 3k about year ago and when I play videos from a certain horse racing website the videos play ok for first 10 seconds roughly but the second half of the videos vision become blurry.

When I play the video on my older $400 laptop its not as blurry compared to new desktop so its only blurry with the new desktop computer.

I'm a computer noob with this stuff so any advice would be appreciated.

is it just live feeds/streams what happens say when watching a youtube video are they ok.

how are you connecting to the internet/wifi or cable

have you run a speedtest

to me usually its just their feed or your internet connection , do you know anyone else who uses that feed/stream and what their output is like.
probably a buffering issue on either your end or theirs.

youtube video is fine, connected to internet with adsl cable

the speedtest is standard speed for town and that produced good pictures previously for same website



Regarding others picture quality I don't really know or speak others who use same website

its weird tho that the laptop produces a better picture then the desktop?

Is there a way to sort the buffering my end of computer?

In disk cleanup where it says files to delete I ticked "all the files" and deleted and it seems video picture is a bit clearer, can doing this make a difference with the video picture quality?

do you have the ability to select quality levels for the video? perhaps under that small white icon at the bottom right?

I'm just guessing that perhaps the laptop is set for a higher quality/bandwidth than the desktop. or perhaps the desktop is set for "auto", and after a certain period of trying the higher quality, it automatically switches to a lower quality.

fwiw, your internet speeds are on the low side, even for just streaming 1 HD video. are you the only one using this connection?

also are you viewing on the same browser i.e chrome firefox

u could try fiddling with hardware/software acceleration or try and replicate ur settings from laptop to PC

No there's no video quality option like youtube with this website etc

With the PC setting how would I change the PC quality settings?

To add the video quality as I said is ok roughly for the first 10 seconds in say a minute total video, then blurry for the next 10 or 30 seconds then the quality is ok again for the remainder of the video while sometimes stays blurry for the remainder of the video, this is without the video needing to load as its already loaded, it just goes from ok quality to blurry to ok quality again etc no buffering the picture quality adjust as the video is playing.
