Making accounts safe again after a hack Making accounts safe again after a hack

Hi,
sorry, I know this probably is the wrong forum, but I don't know what the right forum for this topic would be.

First off, on thursday Winamax had severe server problems. No official statement was released, however, apparently there were specified "attacks". It took about 1 hour for them to get back up and running. In the process I tried logging in about 50 times (I had games running, at the end they were cancelled).
Fast forward, some hours (during the evening) later, my Email, my Skrill and my Winamax was hacked (my Skrill is emptied, the guy deposited the money to a company " Geokul Limited, apparently bulgarian, I already contacted Skrill (no reply) and the company itself). I play poker for over 6 years and I never had any problems with hacking or such. Is there a possibility someone could have gained account information with the Winamax attacks? Or am I just paranoid and it's pure random that both happened the same day?

Now that this happened, for 2 days I feel totally demotivated about anything related to poker, because I'm afraid it could happen again. I have no idea where the guy could have access to my PW (I had the same PW in my email, poker and skrill accounts, however it was a password with random letters, big and small, and numbers, with no relation to me, impossible to "guess").
I immediatly did a full system scan - nothing.
I downloaded Norton for my phone and scanned - also nothing.
I do have suspecion it could have been the fault of my phone though, with all the scam popups there is a chance I maybe clicked on something by accident.

Anyway, the main point of my topic is, what can I do to be able to feel 100% save again? So far I did:
- revamp/reset my phone completely
- re-installed windows on my Computer, so also a full reset
- changed all my passwords once more afterwards (obv., and have different PWs at different sites now)
- have 2-step-authentification at Skrill now and a PIN on Winamax

Still I am feeling a little paranoid and somehow think the guy still has access to everything. Are there any more (security) steps I can do, something I forgot?

Appreciate any help.

You answered your own question.

I would also make sure not to install anything you are not 100% sure is both legit and safe.

And have a poker only computer and if you use your phone in relation to either your skrill and or poker account, poker only phone.

Windows can be made fairly secure, but do have a good AV/firewall sw installed.

IOS is way more secure than your typical version of android and if you need fairly cheap IOS phone for poker and skrill related safety/communication, you can get Iphone SE, it’s plenty fast. You will need to get something bigger like at least 7 plus for playing tourneys though.

And of course keep your passwords hidden from everyone. Use a small safe if you are not in complete control of who enters your premises.

To start with i have heard Skrill have good phone support, you might consider calling them for potentially faster support but i have not tested it myself.

Always use 2-step authentication whenever it possible.
Consider using password manager for unique secure passwords for all websites.
Don't connect to random public wifi and if you do use VPN.
After using public wifi delete it from your wifi network history.
Make sure you have full version of real antivirus/anti-malware not some free **** on devices.
Use virtual recyclable credit cards when buying online with lower limits (Entropay is pretty good for this but i have heard that neteller also do it).
Check regularly your transaction history for unauthenticated transactions.
Use windows account without admin rights whenever you don't need admin rights.
Don't overplay AK.
Don't use internet explorer.
Keep up to date with updates on all software and windows (there is softwares what do it for you automatically).
Have genuine windows copy.
Don't give physical access to your devices to people who you don't trust.
Be careful what software/apps you install and what links you click.
If you don't completely trust sender of email/message don't click on links in emails/messages.

Did you format your hard drive before installing windows?
