I recently live streamed a 7 hour video to my Youtube channel where i interviewed around 15 people. I now want to be able to download the video into editing software, so I can chop up the video by guest segment and then reupload to my event Youtube channel.

Would anyone know how to:

1. Download a video from Youtube
2. Easiest software to chop up the videos

For downloads, I use the removed link to software add-on for Firefox. I think it's available for Chrome and Opera too.

I don't do any editing, but for cheap (i.e. free) and cheerful, VLC might do the job.

1) Do this: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/56100?hl=en

2) I use Adobe Premiere Elements (I bought it one-off several years ago and find it works well for me). From what you describe, Avidemux might suffice as a free and open source software to cut the video up.

I'll try that. Thanks!

You can try the Win 10 video editor app for free and see if it does what you need. If you need more power/features, Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Elements are commonly used for this.

I used to use Virtualdub back in the day when Premier Pro or Final Cut were not available..

If you're looking for good free video editing, maybe given OpenShot a try. I downloaded it last week when messing about with video for virtual Zoom backgrounds and it seemed capable and intuitive.
