Looking to buy a new person laptop for poker & internet needs. Looking to buy a new person laptop for poker & internet needs.

I have a work laptop currently that I was given awhile back at my job, it is a Dell touch screen Intel Core i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40 GHz, it works nice and fast for basically everything work related. However I have had this fairly new laptop crash not once, not twice but 3x on me now completely clearing out everything I had saved on my hard drive which was pretty brutal. Thankfully work paid for repairs but ended up costing them basically the same amount it would have to just replace it with a new laptop at this point.

So my question is (considering black Friday is around the corner) what is a good personal use laptop to play poker on and basic internet use needs. I like Dell, HP & ASUS laptops that I have used in the past but I am open to try whatever. Looking for something in a decent price range also considering this is just going to be a back up laptop for the most part.

Thanks for answers in advance and happy Thanksgiving.

Anything built in the past ten years will play poker and do basic internet needs perfectly

I guess that true, however I want something dependable and know will last me for awhile without having any issues. I have lost my poker database twice now with hundreds of thousands of hands plus, granted I should be saving my stuff to an external hard drive but nonetheless, something quick and dependable that wont break down within the next 3 years would be ideal.

This really doesn't tell us anything.

Really you should be looking for a minimum of i5, 8gb ram, SSD.

I am also in the market for a laptop that I will be using for poker.

I would like to be able to comfortably 4-table on Bovada without any overlap. Do I need a 17-inch monitor for this? I am not really worried about the bulk of the laptop.

How big should the SSD be for HM2 database?

$250-500 I guess, would say that would be around average price for a laptop.

Don’t even bother with that price for reliable backup. Square trade and repair shop consistently show reliable models in that price range don’t exist. You’re looking at almost 20% two year fail rate for budget machines overall and you’re trying to go to lower end of the budget range.

I suppose I was mostly looking into that price range for the black friday / cyber monday deals..... Considering I could find a decent laptop that would normally be 500-$1k for those prices. Also in the past I have bought my girlfriend a laptop that was around $400 for her school work, internet stuff & bills and what not that last for over 6 years and I just got her a more updated one few years ago and that was around the same price point and has not had any real issues yet, thankfully.
