thing is any mechanical switch, even the chinese clones are rated for 30-40-50+ million actuations, so even 10h a day of spamming a key will take several years to start oxidizing the contacts

it does happen that you get a lemon sometimes, quality control and tolerances are not that strict, they do have a robot that presses every key on a board before it's packaged but some (very few) will die within the first months. the likelihood of 2 switches failing quickly is really really low tho so idk what to think about that.

I suspect a damaged pcb, seeing as both the W and A sit on the same matrix (they will have circuits drawn in a certain way to ensure the keys around the WASD cluster can all register at the same time , for gaming reasons). so either liquid damage on the pcb or one of the microcontrollers going.

If you have a soldering iron, you can try to open it up, de-solder the bad switches and put new ones it. you won't be able to get the same outemu switches so any other switches you throw in won't feel the same as the rest, so I guess replace the entire WASD cluster with new 5 pin switches of your choice. if the board takes 3 pins instead, the extra 2 are only for stabilizing anyway, no contacts in those, can clip them off with scissors. When you open the keyboard, you will be able to see if there's any apparent damage to the pcb (discoloring, melted stuff).

Anyway, the product has a warranty, send it back and they'l prob give you a new one, I don't even think they bother opening it up to see what's wrong with it, too much hassle for a cheap product. I suggest you do this before you take to solder.

one more thing, it's not impossible it's a software bug, try updating the firmware from their website, test keys on https://en.key-test.ru/

Hey, the scroll of the mouse has been acting up a bit lately.

As in I will try to scroll down, but then every couple of scrolls it will go up a little bit, is there an easy way to fix this?

ugh not that I know of
if you had the mouse for a couple of years, I'd suggest opening it up to clean the gunk that gather around the wheel but I don't think you've had it long enough for that
the only thing you can realistically try is make the wheel less sensitive, that will mitigate the problem a bit

control panel / mouse / wheel / vertical scrolling - input a gradually lower number and test

I've heard some ppl secure the hub of the wheel that goes inside the encoder with a piece of paper so it doesn't move as freely anymore, but that would mean you have to open the mouse. I don't recommend doing that unless you really have to, because the screws are beneath the mouse feet, which you can't usually put back together properly and it will catch on the mousepad. There are aftermarket feet but it's an added cost.

This will happen frequently with mice, it's all about the manufacturer's implementation and quality of the encoder (it's essentially a laser that sees when the wheel moves) , unfortunately I don't have this model, nor did I hear anything about Roccat wheels acting up.

meh I've seen a dozen 70-80eur+ mice with wheel issues
the ones that seem to hold up better have tighter scrolls, so mby it's just an issue with it sitting too loose. is there a difference when you scroll with your finger dead on center rather than off center/on a side?

actually they seem to be using a solid design, usually there's no washer no nothing to keep it in place

lel jump to 2.07

Lmao, big emphasis on "virtually" when they say virtually indestructable.

There's no difference when I scrolll dead center or a little on the right or left.

sorry bud, can't help you with anything else
did you get it in white or black? I dig the white version, kinda looks startrooper-ish
and it does look comfy, shape is unique, they've def spent time coming with this one up. I still think a seriously good buy at 20 eur, shame the wheel is flawed but there was no way to know, was a recent release too, longer term reviews wouldn't have had popped out by the time you bought it

That's def cool I'm still very happy with it , if I wanted to let someone fix it how much would that cost me do you think?

I got the black one, I think it was the only one on sale and it's a little different as the logo doesn't light up.

def not worth taking it to an electronics repair shop
first I don't think they can do anything to fix it because you don't have a malfunctioning part per se, second even if they can, they'l charge you more than you paid for it
mice/keyboards it's just something electronic repair shops don't bother with, they prob wouldn't even take the job

oh then you're good to go, you would've been out of luck for fingertip mice with a lot of thumb buttons, not a lot of them to begin with and they're all big and palm grip anyway

think either of these 2 would be a good fit for you, price is good, they run on 1 battery tho so not rechargeable but good mice. I'd give the slight edge to the Corsair.

I like both of them but the razer is slightly favor because he is a little bit "smother" when you know what I mean

Thx again and have a nice day

Hi again ionutd

Looking for new keyboard and maybe even new mouse. For both budget is not a problem.

Keyboard: Looking for gaming keyboard but with silent keys. I dont want to hear noise when I press them. I also want some extra buttons for more keybindings.

Mouse: I currently have corsair scimitar pro. Its great mouse however its a little too big for my hand. I`m looking for just a little bit smaller mouse and less keybindings.
I realized I dont need 12, actually 6 is just enough for my use.
I remember I saw steelseries mouse with 6 side buttons but dont remember the name so I can compare size with scimitar.

Hi there Lateralus,

tell me where you're from so I know where to look,
do you want macros on your keyboard? (dedicated software that lets you bind keys to open applications, quick type passwords, stuff like that)

so for the mouse you want 6 side buttons on the left
I never liked implementations like the Scimitar Pro because there's no place to rest your thumb
Razer Naga Trinity has a better design in that regard, 6 keys with a thumb rest in the middle, should be about the same size as the Scimitar, maybe it's a bit thinner in the middle where you grip it with your thumb and pinky so it would feel a bit "smaller"
I will look for alternatives, but tell me if you're in US or EU or elsewhere, I just browse the top 5 retailers in your region, there's no point in me recommending smth that's double the price where you live or you need to import it and waste time

also, wired ok for keyboard and mouse?

I`m from Europe.
Macros are not that much important but welcomed.

Wired is ok. I actually never used wireless keyboard or mouse

And yeah I actually dislike that there is no thumb rest on scimitar.

Alright, check locally for a Razer Naga (Trinity) or a Logitech G604, this one's wireless and a bit cheaper too. The shape is fantastic for me, but I have rather large hands, dunno how it fits you. Pretty sure it's more comfy than what you have now regardless.

Keyboards, if you don't need macros, shoot for one of these
https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/leop...lent-red_3355/
https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/leop...lent-red_3343/

same model, different colors. These are by a good margin the highest quality pre-built keyboards on the market (in the <200$ price range) and as silent as you can hope to get in a mechanical board. Sound dampened chassis + dampened switches
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV0Xp1bAZbg

if you need macros, mby you want to match your mouse and have lights, look for Razer Blackwidow with yellow or orange switches. Neither are as quiet as the Leopolds above. There are a few models, only difference is with the more expensive ones you get a volume wheel and a wrist rest.

I actually recommend a wrist rest regardless, they're not expensive. Careful you get one for a full sized board an get a foam/sponge, not wooden or plastic. I'm using a Cooler Master WR531 now, was 15 eur or so, Razer makes nice wrist rests too. https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/leop...t-size-l_2659/ Leopold rest.

Have you got a nice desk pad? Now using a Cooler Master MP510, great speed and control for your mouse, high wear resistance, can sweat/spill stuff on it and it self dries, can wipe it down with wet napkins or machine wash it. Gets dusty easily tho and if you've got sensitive skin on your wrists, it might irritate you at first, it's got a rougher texture.

I would recommend the Leopold board + rest and the Logitech mouse, they look and feel like solid, quality products. Razer products seem more like toys in comparison.
