Hey guys,
Purchased a new PC and when I attempt to connect to the internet via my router with Ethernet cable I am able to connect to the internet but am told I have “no internet access”. I have tried every cmd prompt reset possible, network reset etc. does anyone have any ideas before I smash it into 1000 pieces? It was running just fine moments before on my old desktop that was running w7.

Can you please clarify what you mean by being "able to connect to the internet" here?

Can you load websites, for example? Sounds as though you can't. Do you mean you can connect to the router, or to the internet?

Presumably the cmd prompt resets you mention include all of ipconfig /release /renew and /flushdns, plus netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset?

I know, I know, but have you power cycled your PC and your modem and router? Turn them all off; leave them all off for a bit; turn them back on in the following order giving them each a minute or two to wake up before you go to the next one: modem, then router, then PC.

Again, I know, I know - but have you used Win 10's networking troubleshooter?

Does the machine have a wifi adaptor too? Does that work okay if you choose it instead of ethernet?

Do you need to update drivers for your ethernet adaptor? What is Windows telling you about that adaptor?
