help setting up hotkeys pls

Currently trying to set up new PC with xpadder. Inside xpadder when I hit the buttons they all light up and appear to be working fine but in game they dont work. If I press F1 hotkey in game on my xbox controller it does nothing. If I press F1 on my keyboard it performs the action. Any ideas what to do?
