Please help an old computer illiterate dummy out. My computer is old, 8 years, and the only one I've had. It can't seem to handle what I need it to anymore as it overheats and shuts down while playing poker. I can't run HM2 and play poker and play something on you tube for long or even play on betonline without much else running for very long before it shuts down. Can't even listen to Sirius cause the fan is so freakin loud.

So I guess I need to buy a new computer but I have no clue how easy/hard it is to set it up with all the stuff I have on my old one. How do I transfer everything over (poker sites, HM2, antivirus program and all my other stuff that I log into automatically with saved passwords and such) so the transition goes without headaches? So how do I go about it? (I know this is nursery school stuff for some of you, but please have some pity for me- i'm dumn)

Have you tried taking your case apart and then clean out your fan? If you haven't then for sure it is covered in dust. (doesn't answer your question but might help you a bit in the meantime)

Thanks for the response, I've thought about that but I'm a little nervous I'd screw it up.

Buy a can of compressed air. Take the side of the case. Use the air to blow the dust out of the case. Or is this a laptop?
