Iam a huge noob when it comes to IT.

Ive always used 2 monitors, one trough VGA and one trough HDMI but it happens that i bought 2 new monitors and they dont have VGA option.

My laptop has usb 2 2.0, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA, no usb 3.0.

I dont want my desktop duplicated, i want to be able to expand as i will be using 1 monitor for my tables and other for my charts and lobys.

My question is, what kind of device do i need? Can you guys help me please?

Cheers

Best you can do is one monitor to hdmi and one monitor to vga.

If you had thunderbolt you could look at egpu options.

If you go with the adapter route, you'll need to be sure to get an adapter that works in the correct direction. Many of the video connection adapters work only in one direction and are not reversible.
It looks like VGA signal to HDMI signal requires an active, powered adapter.
I've linked a couple options. I'd have a bit more confidence in the Monoprice option working as expected, but depending on your setup, powering via USB may be a better option that powering with a wallwart transformer

I'd get a hdmi to VGA . The quality may not be as good but if you were using HDMI for one and VGA for the other you would notice a difference in quality as VGA wouldn't be as good
