G'day,

I'm looking to purchase a HDMI capture device and am seeking manufacturer and/or device recommendations. It seems to me that there is a bizarrely wide variety in price without much evidence of what I'd get for the varying costs.

The input will be a Sony a5100 camera (and in time, likely something from the very similar but slightly upgraded a6000 series) from an ordinary bedroom-like space.

The output will be:
a) Skype video calls
b) Streaming to Twitch, YouTube, etc
c) Recording to other online video formats (YouTube, Vimeo, etc)

I have no experience doing it myself, but I frequently hear twitch streamers saying that they use elgato capture cards. They have a selector tool here. It seems that the differences between models are processing power and delay. https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/capture-card-selector
