Graphics card error? Graphics card error?

08-27-2020 , 11:41 PM
Hello,
I am having a technical problem playing on pppoker. In the middle of a session my whole screen turns black for a second, followed by tables crashing.

In the event viewer under system logs i get this message at the time of the crash:

"IGFX stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

I believe this has to do with graphics card. The exact same crash and error was happening to me about a year ago. I switched pppoker application to "high performance" in the AMD Radeon settings app and that stopped the crashes until recently. No clue why it started happening again.

Not sure what else to do, Drivers are up to date.
Thanks.

I think that's an igpu error?
do you have an Intel cpu with integrated graphics?

Hey, thanks for the reply.
Yes, i do.

Although now I'm thinking it might have to do with a new hotkey program i tried using about a week ago. Was causing this error for me and support said others were reporting crashes when testing hotkeys on pppoker too, so I stopped using it.

Had no crashes for a few days after that, but they started happening again even if I have nothing else open except pppoker. I never uninstalled hotkey program though. Read in online troubleshooting article i should do that. Seems kind of obvious now but i never considered a program that's not running could be causing the problem.

Hopefully that is it, sounds easier than fixing igpu error.

you could try to

a) update the igpu driver using Intel's update utility https://www.intel.com/content/www/us...rt/detect.html

b) disable the igpu or force dedicated gpu for pppoker only, as far as I know, you can do this on both nvidia control panel / amd radeon software, as well and Intel's graphics settings utility

I'm not familiar with pppoker, does it run on browser or via emulator?
if browser, try a different one
if emulator, it's a problem with that specific emulator not talking well to your igpu. once again, try and force only dedicated gpu
you're prob better off asking in the emulator's forums or support for better answers, chances are they've seen this issue before.

doesn't sound like a problem with your gpu either way, so replacing it might not actually solve the issue.

as a last resort, there's a software called DDU (display driver uninstaller) that completely wipes all other traces of gpu drivers on your system and it's the only way I know of to install the latest drivers on a completely clean slate, similar to re-installing Windows.
