is this a good solver build?

posted this question in reddit since idk about computers, and this is what someone suggested, just wanted a second opinion/confirmation before purchasing

its for running monker, i was thinking ~1,000$ but would be willing to go higher if it would like double my ability, just dont wanna go past the price point of diminishing returns. Lmk what you think, thanks!

Re: is this a good solver build?

are you putting it together yourself?

you don't need sound card or GPU, I wouldn't pay $100 for Win10 license either but that's just me

I'd also contact monker support for advice, they probably have some idea which cpu/mboard combo performs better for their software

Re: is this a good solver build?

Yeah i guess im using youtube tutorials to put it together.
gpu is graphics card? soundcard is just so the machine can double as an audioworkstation bkuz im in a poker themed death metal band.

everything else looks good? as per win10... you're saying, you wouldn't go windows, or, you would come across win10 key in a more economical way?

Re: is this a good solver build?

there's a bunch of sites that sell win10 keys for like 25-30 bucks or less

I've never dealt with monker so I have no idea whether your build is barely adequate or a massive overkill, that's why I'd start by getting in touch with their support first

Re: is this a good solver build?

Looks pretty reasonable. Make sure that you do include a GPU as the CPU you've picked (and all of the >4 core Ryzen CPUs released so far) does not have graphics built in.

You could swap out the SATA SSD for an Intel NVME for $30 more for the same size. It's not as fast as the Samsung 960 EVO but is definitely faster than the 860 EVO SATA drive.
