I've never used gmail drive but I'd just use DropBox for that type of application if I were you.

Ad-aware isn't very good. And fwiw, spyware is a type of malware.
Is this to be used instead of Avira AntiVir Personal, or in addition to a program like Avira?

(excuse the ignorance)

I use Avira for real-time protection; those other tools can be used for additional scanning.

DropBox rocks. I store files double-encrypted with trueCrypt to keep my privates, and KeePass for all my passwords. I don't even know my FTP password, and I don't have to!

Plus with DropBox, I can play poker on my laptop, configure it to save hand histories to the dropbox folder, and they automagically get synced up to my main PC. PT + HEM know to look in these directories, so even when I'm playing away from home all my hands are stored up to my database without me having to do a damned thing.

Here's my contribution because I have got some great programs from this thread.

Clip2net

This is a very handy tool to quickly capture any portion of your screen, edit it, and upload it to the web.

You can upload a screen shot in as little as two clicks if you don't want to add any editing to it.

open office is not a pdf creator as such but the word processor in openoffice is capable of creating pdf documents.

PDFcreator is an open-source PDF creator. It works like a virtual printer that allows you to "print" a document to a PDF file instead of sending it to a physical printer.

Note: Make sure you opt-out of the toolbar install during installation.

I like using foobar and this component:

(assuming you don't want to use paid software like dbpoweramp)

Anyone had or heard of clip2net causing blue screen crashes? My comp crashed and I ran malwarebytes and it listed this program as infected and deleted it. Any ideas?

Also I'm running avast and avg. Avast has a problem with thunderbird in that....

avast has detected a secure connection from your mail program to the POP server. This type of connection cannot be scanned for viruses please disable SSL/TLS in your mail client....

Disabling SSL/TLS however stops my googlemail account working in thunderbird, is there a way around this?

I've been using gVim lately. Once you get it tweaked out (tab support, file explorer, code complete, etc.) it's actually insanely good if you're doing any type of programming.

With only an hour of studying I feel my production is better than when I was using Notepad++ and I barely scratched the surface on all of the commands.

I use Greenshot for screenshots. It's free and open source.

Jing is a decent program too (from the makers of Camtasia)
