Disconnecting from party/stars Disconnecting from party/stars

Hey. Recently I've experienced a fair amount of disconnections from party and stars while I was pinging some other site without interruptions. There was also one case when my connection with party was completely fine and I could continue playing there but got disconnected from stars (ping to other site within my country was also ok when this occured).

I've exchanged mails with stars support, party support and my ISP. Stars once (to be precise, after that incident where party kept running without interruptions but I got dc'd from stars) suggested that packets were lost somewhere between my ISP and them and stated that neither they nor I can be held responsible for that. They also suggested that I should contact ISP and ask them to manually change the route of my connection to Pokerstars servers, which is ridiculous because it's not possible and that's not how global Internet works. So generally I don't trust in their technical skills tbh.

So, to keep this short - when I get DC'd from party/stars I can ping other sites via cmd, webpages also load and work fine - what could be the cause? Any ideas?

And also - do you know what does "NetworkStatusReport" on P* actually save to its log? Does it include only pings/responses/routes from these 30s that it tooks to generate that log? Because most of my converstations with their support would be worthless if that's the case.

If what you say is true, then there's something between you and the PokerStars servers that seems to be misbehaving.

You could probably force a different route by using a VPN to force your internet traffic to PokerStars along a different path.

It is also possible that there's an issue with your wifi or your local connection, and you're simply not noticing disconnects with other services. The PokerStars or Party connection is dropping out, and failing to reconnect properly. That could be an issue in their software too which compounds that.

Yeah I asked my ISP if this could work, but idk if stars will allow it. And they've (stars support) been ignoring my emails for almost a month lol

Nah, I recoreded a few short clips and sent them to stars, in one of them party works fine + pinging pokerstars server(!) via cmd works fine without losing packets, yet they still don't really care. But this shouldn't be a p* software fault (except its inability to reconnect in time) as party goes down as well usually despite that one exception when it didn't.

They have no published rules against VPNs, and have specifically asked you to change your routing to their servers, so I don't understand why you would doubt them allowing it.

(by the way, just out of an abundance of caution and disclosure: I formerly served as PokerStars' senior manager responsible for VPN/location issues, so I'm familiar with PokerStars' policy on this as it was a couple of years ago. Obviously, if they change anything without warning, I'd have no idea, but this seems unlikely to me.)

Ah, thank you! For now I need to re-establish contact with their support (which is really ridiculous ffs) so maybe we can find the issue together if they stop being so ignorant, then I'll think about VPNs and stuff.

In my time there, we had pretty aggressive expectations for responding to customers quickly and efficiently. I don't know what their goals are these days, it appears to me that they've got a very different corporate strategy these days.
