Building a computer and bought a motherboard off Amazon. Box arrived slightly bent, and when opened there was no protective wrapping or airbag things around the smaller box containing the motherboard. How can I test out the motherboard to make sure it still works fine? I have no other parts yet.

Honestly, I'd send it back to Amazon and ask for a replacement.

Thanks. To be clear, the amazon box was the slightly bent one. Box containing the original packaging appeared fine.

Right, but unless you are willing to build your PC within the 30 return period, test it out and disassemble it to return a faulty MB, it's not unreasonable to return it.

It's probably OK, as the smaller box is also designed for shipping, but it is a risk.

Unless you are a serial returner, Amazon shouldn't have a problem shipping you a replacement. You can always email them first and explain your situation and concerns.

i don't think i would be pleased if my new mobo arrived w/o an anti-static bag. Sure makes it seem like it's not new and probably shorted already.
